black lines? by KupoGames black lines? by KupoGames
Black outlines or lighter ones?

This will also effect the EBF4 overworld.

The light ones just don't seem right. IMO, the black outlines look WAY better.

Lighter is way better in my mind because it blends better, and doesn't make the objects look so separated/like they're in different layers.
It looks like it's all one scene in colours/lighter, where as the black makes it look very anime-ish/cut and paste.

but it looks like people are voting black...

Depends on the armor

Left is practical

Right could be more unique sets.

The lighter outlines look better to me as it doesn't make everything look so separate and plopped on right over the thing behind it. The lighter outlines give it a smoother and more realistic look.

black outlines, because I felt that lighter lines weren't just your style, because you used them on every single flash.

I think the lighter looks better, but you might want to make it a little darker than you have up there; somewhere in-between.

On that note, where do I find the sidescroller game? I loved that thing, and you took it down, and I can't remember what it was called to find it on Kongregate

you could make the characters black lined and the background lighter... but that wouldnt work so good would it?

Black lines make it pop out more, but the lighter ones look a lot nicer (except for the mouth of the tree) and give it a more rounded feel, unlike the black outlines...
So overall I like the lighter lines better, except when it comes to mouths, because they should be a lot darker...

Here's an idea: the black lines look better on the characters and enemies, but lighter ones look better on scenery like the trees in the background and the platform.

ditto. if you could, it would be cool if you did a perspective light source, you know? like, the stuff on the left side is brighter, cuz the sun's over there(hypothetically) as opposed to the rights side, where...you see where im goin' with this, right?

Lighter would make a nicer game in general, and I think you should make the backrounds lighter but the character and monsters dark, to show they are enemies. I hope you take this into consideration.

I would for the games prefer the black outlines (of course because of the coin :D) as things just pop out more and are more clearly to see.

(In the case of Artwork I would prefer the lighter ones, as it makes all a bit smother and more artistic ^^)
