My endocrinologist appointment is on August 1st, it was set months ago, and it's almost here. I am a bundle of nerves about the whole thing. Worried I won't be cleared for HRT, etc., and so forth. Biggest worry is still how I'm going to handle telling Dad. He still doesn't know I'm trans. As far as I can tell, he doesn't have a clue. Even when I told my sister (the only one that I knew for sure would be supportive), she initially thought the "big thing" I wanted to talk to her about in person was me coming out as gay. ...I suppose that's technically true, seeing as I do prefer girls. Heh. Anyway, Dad is very, very transphobic. He intentionally misgenders trans women. He agrees with the whole Fox News/Trump position on sports and military bans. It took me about ten minutes to get him to understand the difference between a trans man and a trans woman. And then he promptly forgot when he later went on about bathroom stuff again. It's annoying, because he can be caring in his own way

My mother passed away this Saturday, November 2nd. In ten more days it would've been her 77th birthday. There will never be another like her.

Mom's getting worse. Barely any time into hospice, and already we've had to get a hospital bed put into the front room; that's her bedroom now. A bedside commode, because she can't always make it into the bathroom. Oxygen condenser feeding into a cannula in her nose. Things are going downhill much faster than expected. Instead of trying to make it to Christmas, at this rate I'm wondering if she'll make it to Halloween. Heck, I'm not sure if I'm going to make it to Halloween at this rate.
