Handlers and rider guide

Kukuri size sheet by Kuku-ri

A handler, rider, or trainer, these all terms refer to the same thing: The one taking care of your Kukuri.

Now, handlers are the most free things about the group. The only requirements are that your handler has at least one hand, and passes the smaller handler size shown above. This doesn't have much lore-centric reason, as Kukus can be trained to be docile and thus handled even in smaller sizes, but anything smaller than that would be hard to see in the images, and thus some thing requiring a handler may be impossible. A handler can be smaller than shown above, but they will not NOT be passed as handlers in official images, nor will you get the handler FP bonus from it.

The exception is when the Kukuri has the mutation "Miniature." In pictures only showing and concentrating the miniature, a smaller handler is passed as long as it's smallness is still relative to the char provided above.

Your handler does not have to be a human, they don't have to walk on two legs, and they do not have to even speak English. They can be other closed species, your own species, or anything you desire as long as they follow the two rules given above. They can even be shapeshifters, as long as one of their forms has thumbs.

One Kuku can technically have as many handlers you wish them to have!

When handler is required in activity/training/etc., it does not have to be the handler listed in your Kukuri's import to count as a handler. Any character that qualifies as a handler is counted as a handler.

A handler in activities can be replaced with a starter.

Are the handler sizes shown here for handlers who are able to ride their kukuri? I have one character who is a bit taller than the maximum possible handler height listed in the chart above but his kukuri is not for riding. He's treated more as a companion or used for pulling carts/chariots/etc. Are the heights shown the only acceptable range of handler heights or can the handlers be taller if the kukuri is not going to be ridden like a horse or other steed?

I have a character who has really short fingers with really long claws. The claws almost act like the third joint in the fingers except for the thumb. Would this character be acceptable as a handler?

Welp, there goes my dream of a partner who lost both of his forelimbs and a kuku who helps him. Is that possible? A kuku for handicapped people? Or dragons?

It is possible, the handler only needs hands for riding kukuri! But there's plenty of handlers who won't ride directly or at all, so your dream is still possible :3c

So, I can remove both of my Oc's legs, make him have a higher stance for better balance an give him a Kuku as a support? Ok

Hey,I was wondering if I could have a cat as the handler as long as they can shapeshift to a thing with thumbs or hands like a monkey or lemur.
I just imagined a cat riding my kuku on its back and it looked so coot ;>;

Shapeshifters can be used as long as there is humanoid form tall enough with thumbs. Monkey hands should be okay! There are some restrictions for in what form they have to be on BTT, but in traveling it should work! It's always good to link the handler ref to kukus official import, or in the description of image so it's easy to double check by admin if needed ovob

Feral form is okay for travelling, but when it comes to certain trainings you just need to make sure they're in an anthro form.

So I know you can have multiple handlers for 1 kuku, but can a handler have multiple kukus to take care of? Like a loose pack style group travelling with handler or like a ranch would have? My idea was to have one travelling handler take care of all my kukus (in the future) I want to have an handler for.

You certainly can. Most people have handlers looking after multiple kukus so its really no issue :)

The only thing I don't get about Kuku's are their arms.. I see them drawn different in almost every post. It would be helpful if there was some Kukuri anatomy guide.. Unless you have that already and I'm just blind. 'v'

You can pretty much draw them how you like. There isn't a set anatomy guide out there but you're free to interpret them as you see fit.

If you got more questions, please drop them over at the Questions and answers thread!

It's not compulsory to post a rider reference ^^ but if you wish, there's a folder in the group gallery where you can post your rider ref :)

As long as they are capable of handling a kukuri (as in they have the necessary hands+thumbs) and aren't too small, it's fine ^^

The Handlers and rider guide has the specifics!

Ah alright then ^^ yes, the BTT2 is mandatory to have your handler in an anthro form (or with hands) of some sort.

You dont have to have a ref sheet :) your handler can be anything big enough to ride a kukuri and has the hands to control it, but you dont need us to okay your handler in advance!

If Kukuri sizes ha been updated, will old imports be changes for people who wanted a gigant or small Kukuri? Or may we request those import changes to fit the new sizes?

You can request for a size change at the import changes!

just don't like...make your kuku 7 inches tall or something lmao

That's the point: I don't use inches to size because the other metric system, so I used the other guide to mine. Being 7" almost the largest admited before, it is now the smallest, I guess?

How may I now the larger and smaller admitted now?
