As the horn is a huge status symbol to Kukuri, those without one/s is often shunned and looked down upon. They also have harder times standing upon themselves, since one of their natural weapons is taken away.
As a result their mates may shun them and refuse to breed with them, and they cannot create nests bigger than two, no matter the potions used. However, Safe nest potion can guarantee hornless kukuri to have two eggs without chance of shunning from mate.
Bonded mates will not shun each other even if a hornless kukuri is present in the bond!
Hornless mutation overrides Double horn mutation in breeding.
Hornless is flawed mutation, thus it can be normally passed down in breeding. It has small chance to appear as random mutation, and bigger chance when pup is inbred.
Horn infection has chance of kukuri losing its horns for every activity it takes part in. However Hornless mutation acquired this way will not inherit in breeding, but the kukuri will receive minuses of the mutation. In this case, the mutation will be listed to import info as
Mutations: HORNLESS (activity injury)
Non-inheritable Hornless status can also be achieved by removing the horn/s with Small scar pack or Large Scar pack, depending on the size of horns. In order to trigger acquired hornless mutation with scarring, you need to remove more than 50% of the horns kukuri has. Anything less than 50% counts only as cosmetic edit. Refer to the Item guides ranges when checking which scar pack has to be used for the horn removal.
