I've lately started going through the canon of Disney movies reading the source material/adaptations to compare to the Disney version for fun.  I thought it would also be fun to try to develop some new, original takes of my own on the classic characters.  This is my version of Snow White (book reviews here, here and here).

she looks like tulisa (?) stark from game of thrones, the one who marries robb.

Hmm, I don't have much frame of reference having never watched Game of Thrones, but I looked her up and I can see the resemblance.

Great Picture!

many times when I think of Snow White I think of this book that I read back when I was in grade 3 (I'm 18 now, by the way) it was called "Snow White and Red Rose". Despite the name it's a different plot altogether...
Snow White and Red Rose are twin sisters (Snow having pure white hair and Red having dark hair) who live in a small cottage with their elderly mother, one night there is a terrible storm and the twins have to bring all their farm animals inside. Then a large bear comes to the door and asks for shelter from the storm. The twins are frightened of the bear and think he will try to eat them and their animals, but their mother scolds them for judging the bear by his appearance and the twins let the bear stay with them until the storm passes. The bear does not attack the twins, their mother or the animals and when the storm passes and the bear thanks them for their kindness Snow White and Red Rose notice something odd: some of the bear's fur has fallen out revealing gold cloth underneath. Later on it is revealed that the bear was in fact a prince under a spell and that by letting him stay the night with them Snow White and Red Rose broke the spell allowing the prince to return to his human form. In the end one twin marries the prince while the other gets married to the prince's brother.

did you that in the origial story she's suppose to be seven and age while she was dead?anyhow,i love the dising,it looks more like snow white and less like betty boop.

That's not exactly clear, and depends on which telling of the original story you read (some say she was seven when the mirror first told the queen Snow White was lovelier than she was, others say it was many years until she actually went to live with the dwarfs, others say she lived with them for many years, or aged while she slept, etc. etc.), don't you worry, I did my research!  But in any case, I wanted mine to look young but not totally like a child, though in some ways she still does.  Thanks!

yeah,i understand what you mean, back then a 14 year old was the equivalent of an adult and a seven year old was the equivalent of a big girl, and now a 14 year old is the equivalent of a big girl, lol.anyhow i believe she aged while she was dead because my grandmother had a really old book as a child who told the story this way.but the way you drew snow here is really accurate to her older form and it looks even prettier than the disney version.

i thought snow white was seven...

That may be, but she wasn't seven forever!  Who knows how long she lived with the dwarfs or how long she was asleep?  My goal with this design was to make her look "younger".

True....you heard about the fourteen thing, right?

You mean how she's allegedly supposed to be fourteen in the Disney movie?  Yeah, I've heard that, but it doesn't really mean that much to me.

I like your version of Snow White *much* better than the Disney version. The Disney SW looked  *way* too dated and childish. Your SW is very elegant and timeless. You can actually believe that she's "the fairest of them all".

Wow, thanks!  I admit that I was never a huge fan of Disney's design of her, but it's grown on me over the years, even though it definitely does look like a product on the time period in which it was made.  It's kind of intimidating to design a character that's supposed to be the prettiest girl ever, but it's a fun challenge.

simple and sweet how she should be :) I always felt they didnt make her natual enough.she looks like someone who doesnt need or want much to be happy.

Thanks!  Yeah, I think the Disney version is very much a product of the time period, so I tried to make mine a little more timeless, as it were.
