Description
I finally made contact with artist and RPG designer Ollie Canal and got this sketch commission!
After Germanic chieftain Arminius/Hermann made the fateful decision not to betray Governor Varus in 7 AD, German territory as far east as the Elbe River remained mostly in Roman hands. Though harsh, Roman civilization brought roads and trade along with alliance against tribes to the southeast and east. The Roman presence in Belgica and Londonium led to absorption of Jutland. Increased open sea trade gave the locals more confidence in seafaring, which eventually helped them find Iceland, Greenland, and finally the vast land known as Vinterra. The civilization that existed there wasn't one that the early emperors would've recognized, but its historians imagine that it avoided a centuries-long age of darkness.

Nice work, and congrats on getting it! I love Canal's work, but he's basically a cryptid these days.
