its [link] in a 50% zoom.

While the wallpaper version is 25% .. i originally made her with a max of 50% of the original size in mind.

So basically a LOT of detail is lost in the wallpaper, so i just wanted to share the "intended" version for the level of detail on her =) ...

Hi,

as much as I would like to give you the maximum of 20 stars, I think, this would be a bit unfair, so here we go:

I very much like the composition and the lighting, but I think, it lacks some kind of drama, therefore it looks kinda static. Its like she posed for you so you could draw her, rather than a captured moment.

Your technique is superb, not much to say about that. Ive seen most of your works and ciritsizing them in terms of technique is like if I would rant about Mozarts composing skills <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/let…" width="15" height="15" alt=":P" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="395" title=":P (Lick)"/> Everything from the blood to the water and the outfit is made in an outstanding way, plus the design of her outfit is astonishingly fresh. She is not half naked, she doesnt have those riddiculous boob-plates and it looks bad-ass. I could say she looks like shes gonna murder someone, but apparently, she already did <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=":D (Big Grin)"/>

One thing tho: I am not sure about the sun being reflected in the water, when you cannot actually see it in the sky... Is this possible in reality? Because it feels a bit odd...

That being said, I admire this piece, although I see it more like a photo of a random moment, because it doesnt have this dramatic feel, like most of the top-notch wallpapers do. Still , I would be happy to have at least 1% of your skill and creativity, that'd be enough for me <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt=";)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=";) (Wink)"/>

And faved!

Hey, thanks for the critique. This drawing was made a long time ago, and back then I was still learning how to properly make an action scene. A lot of my drawings were too ... static to put it that way. Like you said, as if they were posing for the scene.

The sun is not really visible, but it's near the branches of the tree (on top of the horse's head). But yeah, back then I really didn't have a lot of notion in composition and feel.

thankfully it improved over the years lol

Well, yeah, it did, however you improved more in details and composition than in technique, so its not something visible at first glance.

I admire the realistic way you have made her ride this horse she isn't mearly floating on it, theres real weight to her body and also the apparent weight of the sword weighing down her arm with its cold blood soaked steel, also the horse looks battle worn and tired. sry got a bit carried away lol but Exceptional work very amazing!

its really nice to see thhose reactions lol .. i mean, it's the intention of the drawing after all. I think it's those small details that makes a drawing really cool, its those things that made me like artist A or B. Sometimes it might look a bit "uncool" the pose, but i rather give people something more realistic than making a character that's "im really that awesome and my armor weights nothing".

gives a bit of trouble to get the job done, but i think the result is much better. I had a similar hard time while making Arthas on the banshee queen drawing. Making him looking "relaxed" and looking down to her, was very challenging.

The Birth of a Banshee Queen piece of yours is one of my absolute favorites, altho when I looked at his face I got more of a sense that hes was thinking "At last" or "Your time has come" of course with some sort of evil laughter following, hehe :D Also how broken you made he look even though all you can see is the back of her its brilliant.

This is unlikely I suppose, but are you able to upload larger versions of your widescreen images? The detail in them feels lost in the 1680x1050 image size. Also, I noticed that I can request prints, do you sell printed images? What size are they?

The artwork is absolutely fantastic, the way you capture the reflection of light off her armour and the detail around the horse's head is simply amazing.

some of them i can make it available as print, the ones that are fanart i cant for copyright reasons (the characters are not mine, so i cant make any money of them) ...

usually i upload at 1680x1050 due to its wallpaper size (most people have 22" or less monitors ... its not THAT common for people to have much higher monitors than 22") ... the original file is up to 6k sometimes 7k pixels width, and i dont save the jpg in higher resolutions simply because it wont fit on most monitors, so people wont see the entire image.

In 9/10 of my drawings i make them for the final version to be 25% of the original size. This one in particular i made a mistake of making it 50% to be the original version ... that's why theres soooooooo much tiny little details and i had to upload this version to give a better view of it (which is not even 50% .. its abou 30-40%).

Prints i guess its up to Deviant art ... this one, being ~7k width is around 60-100 cm with high quality. I need to print my personal versions of them to see how well they look =p

Beautiful painting! The color pallete immediately brought to mind Royo.

Glad you uploaded this version because the details are gorgeous. :)

The woman's torso needs some work. I don't feel her shoulder, her upper-chest and her head 'connected' - as in motion, flow, and so on..

the rest is just amazing, as always ;)

i made her body before anything ... saw several images of womans riding horses to have a reference on how they stand on it, their back and torso position. THEN i started to cover with armor. Remember that things have volume, her shoulder is not an "¬" shaped metal, so it naturally goes up a bit for the her to be able to wear it. Also she has an armor on her belly, which makes prevents most of the turning or bending from her hips/torso ... riders ARE stiff when wearing armors. It's not like those comic books where womans bend their backs on impossible ways while wearing 20kg of armor, just for the sake of being awesome in motion. Believe me, i did my homework. I even asked friends that ride if the position was fine, and they said it was.

You might not like the way it is (since its a matter of opinion) ... but it doesnt need some work =p.

no, you got me all wrong. the position itself is perfect. i mean the motion, the 'connection' between the elements (shoulder and head-cape for instance) doesn't feel very good.

i mean, maybe the headcape could be somewhat more wrinkled at the part where it touches the metal-shoulder..
