Description
Created another Rotg OC. Though this is originally 's OC, he offered it to me. So now I own the character& can do anything I want with him. ;u; His name was Futch at first, but I changed it to Yuber. Gosh Ryan, you suck at giving names. c:
In mythology, the Kelpie is described as a strong and powerful horse. Its hide was supposedly black (though in some stories it was white), and appeared as a lost pony, but could be identified by its constantly dripping mane. Its skin was said to be like that of a seal, smooth but as cold as death when touched. Kelpies were said to transform into an attractive person to lure people into their traps. They created illusions to keep themselves hidden, keeping only their eyes above water to scout the surface.
A shape-shifting horse like water spirit said to haunt the rivers lochs of Scotland and Ireland. Kelpies are said to have backward hooves and could change between horse and water. They are also said to aid water mills and dispose of trash in the sea. They may hate humans for ruining their home. It is said that one who mentions Christ’s name after being trapped will be thrown off the horse.
The Kelpie was also known to lure humans, especially children into the water to kill and eat them. It usually does this by encouraging children to ride on its back, where its skin becomes sticky -almost adhesive- and it then drags them to the bottom of the water to devour them, leaving only the heart or liver. A common Scottish tale is the story of nine children lured onto a Kelpie’s back, while a tenth kept his distance. The Kelpie chased him and tried to catch him, but he escaped. A scary variation on this is that the tenth child simply stroked the Kelpie’s nose, but when his finger became stuck to it he took a knife from his pocket and cut off his own finger. He saved himself, but was unable to help his friends as they are pulled underwater with the Kelpie.
Commonly known as spirits of the dead, Kelpies are not benevolent creatures and some folklore even says that they will not come unless summoned, or to eat.
Strangely Kelpies are close relatives of pucas(pooka)
Yuber's name means "praise" in Latin. Yuber is the Guardian of water, Spirit of the dead.
It is unknown as to how Yuber became a guardian, but from what Mim stated, it was huge mistake for entrusting him to become one, now that Yuber freely wreaks havoc, luring unfortunate children to his water depths, devouring them.
However, Yuber was trapped in his own abysmal domain which Mim sealed off, only comes out once a trespasser enters and terrorizes his domain, even fishermen who throws dynamites at seas will automatically summon him and immediately drown them.
He may be doing those good deeds, but only to save himself and he is surely not a guardian to trust as he appears to be malevolent and craves children's flesh. The guardians worry that he may come out at any time, Don Quixote volunteered to keep a watchful eye on his distant relative, making sure he no longer eats children and lure them to his watery abyss, even if it means engaging into a fight with him.
Yuber uses his mortal form, an attractive white stallion, to catch victims. He doesn't have weapons so he depends on his water element, brute strength, his powerful hooves& tremendous tail. Like Don, he is a one-man army and relies on himself individually.
He resides in the lochs of Ireland and has already left mysteries of people, especially children, getting lost in his area. It's strongly recommended that children should stay away from this deceiving guardian. Even the Nightmare King doubts to have him as an ally when his flesh-craving side is uncontrollable. The only guardian he could get along with is Don Quixote mostly. And upon realizing that there are two pookas, he tries to get along with them only to try to get the kids from them.
Among all the guardians, Yuber is the one that doesn't regret hurting mortals, if he'd hurt, he WOULD REALLY hurt anyone.
I made Yuber an anti-hero, so he's not on anyone's side until summoned to do a bidding which may cause them their life on the bargain.
P.S. I won't be making anymore for this fandom, though the only characters left that I haven't drawn are Death, Autumn and the three little leverets from certain pooka parents.
