Cearadactylus ligabuei it's the provisional name of a new genus of uncrested Ornithocheiridae, found in the Santana Formation, Brazil. It lived during Early Cretaceous and had an estimated wingspan of about 4.5 meters (15 feet). Not yet published (but I already know its full name! :D ).
I know, this shot from the back side is quite unusual for the very first reconstruction of a new pterosaur genus...

I was waiting to publish these 3 Brazilian pterosaurs drawing from quite a while (here the other two beasts: kronosaurus82.deviantart.com/a… kronosaurus82.deviantart.com/a… ).
Even if recently other reconstructions appeared on the National Geographic website, mine are actually the very first ones, because they were commissioned by the paleontologist Hebert Bruno Campos himself over 18 months ago. Unfortunately official descriptions of these animals are still unpublished, so I had to wait until now to show these three drawings, all of them explicitly requested without a background scenario.

One of my favourite pterosaurs ever thanks to Jurassic park novel and you did a great work on this one.

Oh, anyway: this isn't Cearadactylus, that's just a provisional name because the fossil is still in review. It's probably a new genus and – as I wrote – it should have another name. :)

Man, I read Jurassic Park the last time years ago, and I didn't remember this was the pterosaur inside the aviary. Thank you for this reminder! :)
