So as most of you know, I have been sort of inactive with my art these past . . . well, years. I maybe manage a couple drawings a year, but the process has honestly become somewhat draining for me. I've done a lot of commissions over the years and only rare pieces for myself, and I think that has taken its toll. Art has in many ways come to feel like a chore. It is saddening for me, but I feel confident that with time my passion to create on paper will return. It's been with me my whole life, fluctuating but always present. I have many ideas for things I'd love to draw and paint, many reference photos saved, etc . . . it's really just a matter of waiting for the inspiration to return to me.
On that note, I have been working to find other creative outlets, in order to express myself without further wearing away at my patience for traditional work. I've been sewing, embroidering, etc., and recently I took up photography. I am by no means an experienced photographer, but I have been having a great time learning the tools of the trade and trying to figure out how to produce my vision using methods so different from my drawings. And on that note, I would like to ask my followers to take a look at my photography account, if they have the time. I wanted a clean slate, something separate from my art profile, so that I could work on developing a style and "brand" so to speak independent of the typical "Kristyn Janelle" style of art. It's something new for me, it's different, and it might totally suck; but I would nevertheless LOVE your guys' feedback, whatever it may be. Many of you have supported my creative journey since day one, and that has made all the difference to me. I wouldn't be where I am if it weren't for the support I found in the early days of my work here on DA.

Thanks for reading, and hope to hear from some of you soon.
