Welcome to my Deviations page. I am very excited to be here and I wouldn't have this if it wasn't for my beautiful wife and muse of the same name (well close... Kristyn Floyd). Call me Kris. She set this up for me as well as my redbubble page (see website below) and manages my work. I just like doing the art.
So a little about me. I started off with acrylic and oil paints on canvas and although I enjoyed them very much I never felt like I was using the right medium. I have tried them all. Pencil, markers, pastels, and so many more but I finally found the right one for me. Digital Art!!! (Homer Simpson like drools) I was always weary about digital art at first and felt that it was "too easy," or even a cop-out and I needed to be a traditionalist. Oil painting, must do it like the masters do it. Psshhh. I was soooooo wrong.
I can't express this enough. Digital painting is REAL painting... of course, without the mess. I start with a blank canvas and paint stroke for stroke but with one gigantic benefit. Layers! Oh precious layers. How I love thee.
I had to get with the times. I found my artistic voice with a wonderful program called Painter 12 and the use of a wacom Intuos 5 tablet. I couldn't be happier. I can actually complete the art I want and it doesn't take me months to do one piece which is a blessing. All that drying with oils and mixing of colors. Not anymore. Now I close my canvas and stow my brush in a laptop bag until I am ready to work on it again, even minutes later.
I have been at this Digital Art thing for about a year and I keep learning new things with each piece. I never know what I am doing next but I hope you enjoy what I have created so far.
So thank you for checking out my work and you can always find something new arriving in my gallery. A big thanks to all of my watchers and anyone who adds one of my pieces to their favorites. You are all awesome! One last thing, I respect all of my fellow deviants and I have seen what can be accomplished doing things digitally as well as traditionally. Keep the art coming and I will do my part as well.
