It's not as many bees as promised (10,000 bees), but pretty close (43 bees). Man, I sure know how to draw Beedrill and Ninjask now!
Here we are at Castro Forest, where it rains a lot.
There's a gang of Ninja kids who all use Bug type Pokémon - Ninjask, Beedrill and Butterfree. One of the kids (who you can only meet later after getting Surf) is the little brother of Ginta, Castro Valley's Fighting type Gym Leader, and I think it's really nice that the Gym supports trainers of other types in their Ninja training, too. x)
The wild Pokémon in the forest are mostly Beedrill and other large bugs, but there's also Pikachu! So when I realized what a special encounter this was, I was very excited and immediately got the idea for the Beedrill chase scene. So exciting to finally draw it. :'D
Equally exciting: I get to unspoiler the Spoiler Boi art from Pride Month two years ago! ;v;
Aaron the Pikachu is a trans guy. Please use only he/him pronouns when referring to him.
Like I already mentioned in the description of the art linked above, 85% of the usable Pokémon I caught in this Nuzlocke were male and I thought that was incredibly boring, so one of them can be trans at least.
Most Pokémon species have roughly the same level of consciousness as humans, so they can be aware of the way gender works in their respective societies, and so they can also be trans. With Ira (nonbinary) and Nathan (demiboy) there already were some Pokémon characters who aren't cisgender, but since both of those were retcons, it's likely that not everyone knew that. So here's one where it gets spelled out. ovob
Hm! Not much else happened on this page.
Sara lost another umbrella. She is really not convinced of the point of umbrellas anymore.
Terry continues to work on his new powers. He can regulate his body temperature between "slightly warmer than a regular dog" and "really fucking hot", so he can both be huggable and do fun tricks like drying clothes. I sure would love to have a pet like him. ;v; Have you ever wondered why responsible adults go through the trouble of packing a second pair of shoes for vacations? I do not wonder anymore. ._.
He still hasn't managed to make actual fire yet. Maybe licking the campfire will provide some inspiration.
Next time: You thought the weather here was bad? Next time, it gets outright dangerous...

A nice page to transition through this area! I love the montage at the end and I couldn't think of a better way to have handled Aaron!! I love him and I want nothing but the best for him. :')
Also I love that Terry is immediately becoming one of the most useful members of the team now that he's evolved. Even if he's just a dryer sometimes. xD
I absolutely love the panel where they're submerged in the water!! It's so pretty with how you decided to paint it. You always have at least one panel per page that's super artsy and that one seems to be the winner this time!!
Can't wait for more bad weather next page. > : )
Waah thank you!! I thought about Aaron's introduction for a long time, and I'm so glad it turned out right! ;v; Will he get the good things he deserves? Maybe!
Terry sure has a unique skillset! .D
Comic panels aren't meant to be masterpieces, but sometimes u just gotta go hard! When I get to do something with water, I instantly become more powerful.... Thank you! ;v;
Oh, you like pain? Valid tbh!
who isn't gonna love him? Such an adorable chunky Pika-
Also funnier how her shoes fit his paws- I know Terry's big, but wow. XD
Actually wondering why she wasn't wearing socks with those sneakers too- Unless Terry's drying those too.
