A quickie. Roughly 10-15 hours of work. pencil sketch, skipped the vector process, but wanted to try a different method of shading/lighting. I kind of like it, but at the same time I can't stand looking at it. I'm sure many of you are tired of snowboarding pics too. X).

I'll eventually flush out the queue and move on to different things.

EDIT : now with Quiksilver brand pimpage.

The QuikSilver finish, seriously gives it an extra touch of radness, extreme piece.

The Quiksilver graphic's pretty slick; I had to steal it off of a grainy press photograph from a while back -- I haven't actually seen this board come out yet.

I'm really diggin' the movement in your line work-- It's very attractive to the eye and conveys such an action-packed feeling to the piece! Nice!

Thank you! I have a real thing for the "frozen motion", photograph-like gestures. You know, things you can only capture in-the-moment.

This isn't the best example of one, but it does work. :D

I like your style! --Frozen motion is really cool-- and it still has a moving effect on the viewer. :D

nice detail and the quick silver snow board is rockin.

Thank you :) Unfortunate for the Quiksilver board; that design is actually top sheet; not the base as I drew it here.

Snowboarding, Nice...

Snowboarding kicks ass :D
NFRANGA's avatar
Yeah I have tried it on small hills near my home, I am not that good...
krhainos's avatar
No one is on their first .. at least two years. That's how I've been at it. But again, I skipped the easy hills and didn't take lessons which is quite possibly the worst thing you could do.
NFRANGA's avatar
Yeah, and what gets me is that there was a huge hill and I went down it, and I never fell off, while I constantly fell off some tiny hill... go figure my luck
krhainos's avatar
The slower you go, the more difficult it is to balance.
NFRANGA's avatar
True, I can stay balanced when I am going lightning fast, but fall off easily on small little hills....

O_o You actually draw pretty good! Based on previous comments, some say it's cropping and contrast issues to handle, but me as an amateur cannot see the flaws. I like that furry face :XD:
krhainos's avatar
Yea, they're more composition issues more than anything else. There's a couple (or more) mistakes in rendering the clothing folds -- but again, if you're being overly critical I'm sure you can fin tons more other screwups.

Don't discredit yourself for being an amateur. It doesn't take an artist to point out that if he had a leg that was too short, or arm with an elbow with the wrong place.

I can tell you didn't use vectors, but still looks great.
