Hi guys! Just a notice to say that I'm not posting much here anymore (as you may have noticed). I'm more active on my tumblr, so if you want more regular updates, check that out (if you don't want to deal with the random/personal posts there, you can click on the "art" tag on the sidebar and only keep track of that page). I will try to post here occasionally, but I'm going to start disabling comments since I haven't been good about replying to them.

Anyway, tumblr is this way:

I will still definitely be checking in on here and keeping up communication regarding commissions, so no worries if you're waiting to hear from me; I'll be getting in touch with everyone with updates very soon!

Thanks as always for all of the favs, comments, and the watches!!!

THANK YOU to everyone involved, you all look fantastic and I am so honored and amazed! You did wonderful work and I'm so glad you had fun with the concept!

Sketch commissions CLOSED

Tue May 17, 2011, 2:01 PM

Heeyyy everybody - Thanks so much for all of the interest and support, I wasn't expecting so much interest in commissions and I'm honestly floored by the response.

On that note, I'm going to go ahead and close sketch commissions for now, just so I can catch up and start focusing on full color commissions instead. As soon as I'm caught up I'll open up full commissions and probably start taking them in rounds to keep things organized. I'll still offer sketch commissions off and on, depending on my workload, but ideally remain open for larger commissions full-time. If I can manage things well enough I might just offer everything all the time, haha. Will have to see how things go.

If you noted me about a sketch commission and haven't heard back - sorry about the delay! I will get back to you soon, and no worries, you can still get one if you're interested.

I'll also update my commission info with what's available and prices soonish :T

Thanks again, guys!!

Thu Apr 7, 2011, 9:58 AM

Commissions currently closed while I catch up!

Currently only doing sketch commissions. Full commissions will be open fairly soon, though! If you're interested in a full commission, feel free to note me and I can put you on a hold list.

Sketch Commissions
sketches 1 by kreugan
What: Full-body, single character
$15 Pencil
$25 Digital

Digital will be cleaner - technically lineart, but my lineart is so rough it counts as a sketch, hahaha.

Payment: Via PAYPAL only, please!

If interested, you can either send me a note to hold a spot, then send info once I confirm, or just send info straightaway. I'll reply ASAP to confirm and give Paypal info. Full payment upfront, but I'm willing to be flexible if you're getting more than one at a time.

Please include:
- Character name
- Physical description
- Personality
- Any references you have! If you don't have drawn refs, photos of people/clothes/etc. can also be useful. I'm okay with drawing from scratch, just make sure your description is more detailed if that's the case.

Thanks for reading!!

HI GUYS I still exist. Sorry for being so absent (again :C). Just been really busy, unfortunately not with art things, but I'm working on making some changes that will hopefully fix that.

I hope everyone's having a good 2011 so far!  I will try to get something to post here sometime soon.

Sketch Commissions OPEN!

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 17, 2010, 3:18 PM
More sketch commissions! Just to be very clear - I am also working on bigger projects, and working full-time, so the turnaround will vary on these. I'm of course going to do my best to work quickly and aiming for a 1 week turnaround (or less!), but I just want to be honest about the situation in case my schedule gets crazy. Anyway, on to the info!

What: Single character sketches, pencil or digital, waist-up
Price: $15 (Paypal only!)

If interested, please send me a note with character description/references. I'll note back ASAP to confirm!

Thanks for reading!! Hope everyone is having a great month, can't believe it's already so far into it, arrrgh. :T

Commissions soonish

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 3, 2010, 4:59 PM
Hey guys! So I'm all settled in now and loving it, except for all the paying bills business, haha. I have a couple of commissions I'm finishing up right now that are my #1 priority, but as soon as I start tying those up I will be opening for sketch commissions again! Prices will range between $10-20, in case anyone's curious. Thought I'd give you an actual heads-up this time instead of just opening/closing them in one day, haha. :'D

This time I will most likely keep them open for real, unless I get overwhelmed. Sadly my two jobs barely pay the necessities, so I will be needing something else to squirrel away/pay for video games. 8D~~

Things are super busy but satisfying, I guess! I usually only have one day off each week, sometimes none, so I unfortunately don't have as much time to draw as I'd like. I'm hoping to clear up some more serious art time in the not too distant future, though. Wish me luck, lol. :T

Hope you're all doing well and getting super fat on Halloween candy!! (I know I am 8C)

So, as I mentioned previously, I'm moving soon - 2 days!! Thanks for all of the support/commissions guys, it's definitely helpful to have some extra cash since I'll be parting with most of it very soon, haha.

Obviously this week is going to be pretty hectic, and I have a few commissions/projects I would like to finish before Halloween, so that's what I'm focusing on for now. After I get into more of a routine, I'll most likely be offering commissions again. Thanks to people who've been asking about them, I really appreciate the interest!

Is anyone dressing up for Halloween? I'm hella old but I still do if I get the chance, lol. Let me know if you've got a costume lined up, I love to hear what people are doing! I'm going as a (low-budget) Battlestar pilot, haha. Need to sort out my farmer's tan though, oops. :T

Catching up

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 5, 2010, 9:11 PM
Hey guys! Just wanted to get that old entry off the front page, since I've had my new computer for a while now. Also have a new monitor, and have properly calibrated it and realized I draw things very orange! It's partly on purpose, but things are definitely even more saturated than I'd intended, haha. Oh well.

Anyway, I'm all caught up on commissions, aside from a secret project or two. Now I'm catching up on some other things that have been waiting way too long to get done! This includes actually getting off my butt and playing around with the ATC thing.

Hope everyone's doing well!! It is too damn hot here and I'm excited for it to maybe start cooling down again. :'C Gosh I am full of exciting news.

Computer problems

Journal Entry: Sat Jul 24, 2010, 4:57 PM
Hi guys! First of all sorry for disappearing for so long, I've done a really poor job of managing drawing time/work. I'm getting less crappy about it, but I want to apologize to everyone waiting on something from me. Thank you guys for being so incredibly patient!

That said, my computer has kicked the bucket. I should be able to recover commission files without much issue, but everything will be at a stand-still while I sort out a new computer (and the mess that is art program installation and registration/activation).

I'm not too upset about it dying - it's a desktop replacement, and I've been wanting to get an actual desktop computer for a while now. Anyway my plan was to get everything running and go back to work without any big delay, but since it's already been a couple of days with no big progress I figured I should post a heads-up!

RIP Picard - for a laptop, you gamed like a pro. <3

Uncharted 2 Multi-player? + commissions

Journal Entry: Tue Jun 1, 2010, 2:55 PM
Heeey guys - let me know if you play Uncharted 2 multiplayer, I would like to try it out but have no friends. :T Matchmaking keeps putting with me with a-holes who just nuke everyone, lol.

Also if you are just on the PS3 network generally, let me know! Idk if there's much else to do with it other than multi-player but hey everybody likes friends right?? That said I will not necessarily friend anyone and everyone, preferably people I have actually talked to before!

In other news life is pretty good, not a whole lot going on. Working arrrrrgh. I've finished with the current commissions, so if you're interested in getting one yourself, definitely let me know!

EDIT: Slots full, thanks guys!! Depending on my work schedule I will do these pretty often, so don't worry if you missed this round.

Also, I am going to go ahead and take 3 actual full/color commissions. Clean lines with color, pretty much like this:

pe: lucas for toktobis by kreugan

Character, no background - $30
With background - $45 (will knock off or add $5 if the background is super simple/complicated, depends on the details!)

Payment by Paypal only! I'm willing to do more than one character or a full-on scene, just note me and I'll figure out the price. Thanks for reading!

this is the first time I have ever made a big angry I HATE CHAAAAAANNNNNNGE post but dangit I am making one now, I am making it so hard

seriously what is this, I miss the old top bar and I don't want this tacky picture zoom shit and big honking floaty navigation arrows next to all of my pictures

OKAY to be more level-headed, things I like:
- The new artist's comments, with the category info right there.
- The new font/color scheme of the top bar is nice (but I liked having the deviation/message distinction right there, not just in the dropdown).
- I agree that it's more sleek and polished looking as an overall design.
- I do like the bigger/clearer buttons for fav/print/etc, but is there any particular reason they had to move them to the right side of images?

Things I don't like:
- The floating navigation arrows and the super browser. They're distracting and really clutter the art right off the page.
- The new fluid layout on individual pictures, again just distracting. I liked it a lot more with a standard space for the image. Right now it feels like the comments/details are all crammed up in your business.
- The totally unnecessary zoom effect when you view an image while browsing a gallery. It is really slow on my connection, is generally choppy and gross looking, and is just tacky!

ANYWAY I know I will get used to it, I always do. And I'm sure there are options to disable some of the things that are bugging me?? If you know how, please do let me know!

okay hold the phone why the heck is there no search bar on my profile page :

And a totally legit/constructive issue: when you fullview an image, if it's big enough, it shoves the fav/print buttons down next to the comment box, and shoves the details much lower. messyyyy 8(

Support FIXIT - comic and illustration magazine

Journal Entry: Thu Apr 29, 2010, 2:46 PM
Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted much art lately - I actually started working at the bookstore again (lol), so I'm out and about a bit more, but I'm also just doing a lot of artsy soul-searching and experimentation. :'D BUT I will be posting again soon, I'm sure!

Anyway I just wanted to pimp out this awesome looking project over at kickstarter, via okashichan. From the kickstarter page:

"FIXIT is being developed as a quarterly serialised comic and illustration magazine (issue #1 shipping january 2011) to showcase the talents of many artists that don't quite have a chance to realise their ideas in print simply because there aren't enough opportunities in the industry.

FIXIT's aim is to bring out comic and illustration talent for 2 reasons:
- give artists a place where they know they can see their work in print and experience how to work under a scheduled process
- create a magazine that is substantial in content and reminds everyone about the awesomeness that is print."

Definitely check it out! They've only got a couple days left to get funding, so if you think it looks cool, please pledge! If you can't spare the cash, help spread the word instead. Click on the widget to learn more and support the project!

I'm pretty sure I got back to all the comments, but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the advice on my last entry. I still don't know what the heck I'm doing, but I feel like I have a much clearer idea of what the options are.

Anyway that's about it, just wanted to get that big fat serious entry off my page, haha. :'D

Go see "How to Train Your Dragon", it's the best.

lol this is very informative:

Art school? Advice?

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 7, 2010, 8:59 AM
Hey guys! So I'm not sure if I've asked this here before, but I know some of you have heard it from me.

Do you think an art degree is really necessary, or worth it, if you want to try to get into an artistic career? I've heard opinions on both sides - in one case people say it's definitely necessary to have it on your resume to get into anything, others saying that if you can really buckle-down and teach yourself, your portfolio is really all that matters.

A few years ago if I'd been considering it I would've gone for it, because the fact is I need the experience and have a LOT to learn, but now I'm getting old (argh) and already have two degrees that aren't doing me any favors job-wise. If I decided to go for it, I'm sure I could scrape together the means, but I need to think pretty hard about it before I throw money at another degree. :T

I can't help but think a degree of some kind would be good, because of technical/industry know-how (particularly for fields like animation/design/storyboarding). While you could certainly teach yourself those things, it would make more sense to get a degree and have it in writing on your resume.

If I did decide to go for it, does it really matter WHICH school you go to? There's an art school in CO that would be my best bet, since I wouldn't have to uproot myself too much/pay out the ass, but I'm not sure if getting a degree from an unheard of school would be like shooting myself in the foot.

Have you done art school? Decided to go back to it later in life? Have an artsy career? I would really appreciate any thoughts or suggestions you have!!

p.s. either way I am going to find a way to take classes, because damn I just need to, lmao. But I'm trying to figure out if I should take classes willy-nilly or if it would be a much better plan to actually try to get into a program.

Thank you and Aion

Just wanted to say thank you to new watchers and old ones, you guys are amazing and I really appreciate all the support! Sorry I have been slacking hardcore in terms of thanking new watchers individually.

Also I wanted to ask if anyone here is on Aion?? I know the chances of anyone having it and being on the same servers is slim, but WHO KNOWS maybe destiny will make it so.

p.s. oh jeez I completely cleared out my messages and now I feel like I am naked, that is the last time I do that

Hey I am still here ... TEA

Sun Jan 31, 2010, 8:14 PM

Sup guys! Still just working on commissions and applying to jobs eternally and not getting any, boy oh boy.

I am also playing ME2 but have given myself a daily time limit so sadly not too far yet! Basically it is awesome, but while I felt comfortable not playing a femshep in the first one because I decided Kaidan was kind of a bitch, the hot alien ass in ME2 makes me want to go back and play through ME1 as a lady so I can import her into ME2 and tap that. : ugh life is hard

Been reading a whole bunch; currently working on an awesome Victorian ghost/supernatural non-fiction book, another non-fiction about a 1920s explorer, the first book in the Wheel of Time series, and that one series about dragons in the Napoleonic wars. Maybe one day I will learn to read one book at a time!! (doubtful)

Anyway I should be submitting new stuff very soon!

But more importantly -

I am spending lots of time at tea houses lately and there are too many dang teas out there. Anyway let me know if you have any recommendations!
