Update! Now RainVersion has the ability to check if a new Rainmeter version is released, and directly link you to the download!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
RainVersion is a simple Rainmeter skin that displays the current installed Rainmeter version. It uses AutoIt to get the executable's version.
You can use it when testing for bugs in specific beta revisions, and you want to take a look at the version quickly.
You can also completely change the looks of the skin, and the .au3 is included, if you want to make changes.
Rainmeter 2.4.0 r1598 is required, get it here.
Changelog:
  • v1.22: Small RegExp error
  • v1.21: Fixed a problem where only IE logged in users would be notified about the update (thanks to UnforgivenRevival and Kaelri)
    Changed UpdateRate to every 12hours
  • v1.2: Added Ability to check for new version
  • v1.1: Fixed a problem where the AutoIt .exe wouldn't send the !bangs to the correct config
  • v1.0: Initial Release
Glad I stopped by before quarantining this in MWB...
SuperAntiSpyware indicates Trojan when installing this.....what's the deal? It quarantines the following:
Trojan.Agent/Gen-Bifrose.Process.
Very concerned - nothing happens when I try to show the skin.
I am sorry for the super late reply. I 've been lost from my projects unfortunately, but I shouldn't let this one pass, because it is a serious problem.
This particular skin heavily depends on an AutoIt .exe (which I wrote) to get the necessary information (the version) from Rainmeter. I have included the source of the .exe, but in case you can't see it, here it is: [link] . You can go ahead and search for the commands if you like, I can tell you that it is a tiny bit of code that only asks Rainmeter about its version and then creates some variables that Rainmeter can use. Not even remotely a trojan.
The skin doesn't depict anything because, I presume, SuperAntiSpyware already deleted my GetVersion.exe when it thought it found a trojan. In my PC it still works perfectly: [link]
Thanks for explanation - I am just "jumpy" sometimes when SAS tells me I have a problem with a download. Appreciate your work.
I completely understand. I "jump", too. That's why I wanted to let you know. :)But that .exe does pretty much nothing. Did you make it work?
Yes - thanks for the skin and for your concern and follow-up.
Seems to be getting a "Calc: Unmatched brackets in [mMinorCheck]" error in the log. Any idea whats going on there?
KreDoc's avatar
Yes, I noticed it yesterday. The 2.4 final release creates the error, because the file comes with no minor or revision number (Rainmeter-2.4.exe). I will look into it today, after my classes, to fix it. :)
Alright. Yeah I thought that was the problem, But wasnt totally sure. Its not a big deal but it does clog the log every second with the error. Whenever you get around to it. :)
It doesnt seem to be showing the update unless it only shows update for the major builds, not the different packages within. What is it set to do? I am still using 2.4.0 beta r1598. I believe the newest is r1611, and doesnt tell me to upgrade.
It should. At least in my case, it does: [link] (I installed r1598 just now). Come over to the forums and post what your log shows and/or if errors are produced. Here's mine: [link] .
