A mini-rant before I get started. This website is suffering an infestation. Hacked accounts, mindless bots teaming with Trojan bugs, new “deviants”/alt accounts, and excessive increase of AI use across the platform, supported by a lack of care from the site’s staff team and inconsistencies in moderation. Toxicity, untagged NSFW, constant art theft, it all has built up into a monster of an obstacle for artists that have made their home here. For those like me, that have been here for years, it’s hard to move on. It’s hard to know which options would’ve best to build on. It’s a vicious cycle of wanting to leave, but not having the foundation here anywhere else. This website has truly taken a downward and tragic dive from its once reputable status. It’s devalued art. It’s devalued artists. It’s no longer what one could call an “art site”. It’s just a cesspool. So, amongst this cesspool, there are still genuine people.
