I'm truly proud of myself.
This comic started out as a simple ponification of an xkcd comic, but became more and more as I drew on, and soon it became a comic about the origin of Equestria, and how Maud Pie is god of the universe.
There are some little references here and there in the comic, but they are bonuses, not required for understanding. I'll just point them out here:
Analytical Engine: a general-purpose computer designed in 1837. Can theoretically do all the things a modern computer do (with a big enough mechanical RAM), and can be made entirely out of 19-century mechanical technology.
Alchemical signs: They are like chemical symbols for medieval alchemists, and still occasionally used by chemists until 18th century.
Rule 110: a celluar automata that is Turing complete in its computational power.
Yoneda theorem: a theorem in category theory.
Wu Xing: basically the ancient Chinese version of the four elements.
Lorenz attractor: that butterfly shaped thing, a famous demonstration of chaos theory.
Discord getting killed: I was thinking about how Ymir was killed in the Norse creation myth, as well as other primordial creators who later got killed by their creations.
Maha-kalpa: a very long time unit mentioned in a Hindu book Visuddhimagga.

Digital data can be copied and preserved forever. That doesn't mean they would, mind you ... but storage capacity is growing and it's generally easier to just copy data than to analyze it and decide which parts are worth copying.
So yes. It IS possible your image will end up in archive of some university department of archeology when they would be evacuating Earth due to Sun getting too hot billion years from now. It doesn't mean someone will ever look at it, but it MAY BE THERE.
Though who knows, maybe reality would turn weird someday, as in so weird that even concepts like "the end" will be subject to its whims. Ever heard of the SCP Foundation? That is what I am envisioning, a world where you could just wake up one day only to discover that your stomach is an ear garden and the sun is turning you to Tang.
But that is just a theory.
A Life Theory!
Thought I am not familiar with the source comic or a lot of the references, this is still enjoyable. I can't put to words how much I like it, so I'll sum everything up with: "I like Maud."
The story is modified my creation myth of Equestria: Out of nothing came chaos, out of chaos came Discord, Discord created the sun, moon, earth, populated Earth with creatures. Then he (like "the Elder God" in Lovecraft's stories) treated the creatures cruelly (not because of evilness, but because he's too different from the creatures to empathize with them) and was defeated by the sun and the moon who became the Younger Gods. The Younger Gods don't actually have a definite shape, alicorn Celestia and Luna are just one physical incarnation of them.
Discord originally created all ponies as alicorns, but then felt a bit bored, so he split them into three kinds so that there's more drama to entertain him.
