Dragons meeting -2 - about dragonriders (spoilers by Kooskia Dragons meeting -2 - about dragonriders (spoilers by Kooskia
(c) Kooskia (fancomic)
(c) Naomi Novik (Temeraire character)
(c) Christopher Paolini (Saphira character)
(c) Anne McCaffrey (Ramoth character)
(c) E.E. Knight (AuRon character)

I've done it again xD Well...  a mix- crossover with dragons protagonists of some of the most famous book series concerning dragons

Saphira from Eragon, Temeraire from... Temeraire, Ramoth from the Pern series, and the newcomer: AuRon from Age of Fire.

I've already done previously a similar comic:  Dragons meeting

But this time there is also AuRon and the comic concern a common elements: the riders (or Dragonriders).

It's pretty much cool how in Age of Fire, some of the concepts that are common in other books (the rider/captain touching-caring the egg, having a sudden link of some way with the newborn cub) is actually explained in reasonable way as an imposition of unnatural human imprinting on the new born dragon.

I don't like crossovers most of the time, they tend to have problems. But your dragon crossovers are one of the exceptions and and their interactions are interesting and amusing. I guess what makes it work is dragons basically act the same, regardless of book or movie, but they have little differences they can argue over.

It's pretty funny how many crossover pics there are compared to "realistic" fan art. There are a few images of Mei and Temeraire on DA. There are more of Saphira and Temeraire despite their difference in size (or does she get bigger later on?). It's an interesting pair. I've never figured out what Temeraire likes, but I wonder how he would react to Wistala from Age of Fire. Perscitia would probably like her.

I love how AuRon responds, it's funny and realistic. It's also funny that no one ends up happy in these comics. Saphira and Ramoth want AuRon, but he's not interested, and Temeraire wants Saphira but she's not interested. But if Temeraire and Ramoth had babies, England would have time traveling dragons. Correct? I don't think that would end well.

I am reminded of my favorite crossover pair, by the images on the right, which is Smaug and Iskierka, though they might kill each other instead. I can't imagine Smaug and Lien getting along. Or would they. He has the same way of pretending to be polite.

PS: I was delighted that you knew of the Warcraft dragons. Few people do.

Wow! It's so cool to receive these kind of long comments hehe I love them xd

Now speaking of crossovers, I agree with you. Usually I do not love them, and the only exception it's when they are made with a fun/parody intention (like the ones I tried to show in my little works). There are quite a number of Temeraire fanarts around deviantart, but sadly as you said there is little about Mei (a character who sadly disappeared from the story basically. I was a bit sad for her, in addition to certain unexplained stuff left).

Hehe indeed. Maybe I stressed a bit too much their features in a comical way, but it was just fun.
And yeah... but Smaug would be quite a different character compared to all of them: in the end the ones I've drawn are similar for having a somewhat similar background in terms of fantasy and presence of dragon-riders.
Smaug is a bit more unique, following the Tolkien's style.

Indeed I am a fan of Warcraft/WoW x3 And dragons play a so cool paart in such lore story, I hope there will be more about them.

Haha thanks! Cool that finally someone read ALL of them xD more often people read only this or this one...

I hope to write a third part, maybe fitting a protagonist from Wings of Fire, once i will have read the first book.

(i'm craving to read books with dragons-protagonist point of view, or generally speaking animal/not-human POV)

Hmmm, is there ever going to be a third dragon meeting comic?

Possibly...  eventually.....

Still have to see what do xD I could make one with all the three Siblings of Age of Fire, but they would be too many in balance with the other characters.

I could decide finally to read Wings of Fire, and see if i can fit one character in the Dragon meeting-3

Or i could even exploit some movie-character...

yeah but i'm sorry that i'm painfully slowly from last 2 years i made basically 1 or 2 arts for month <.<
it's that i've countless of little cool things to do in spare-time: have some life, drawing, watching anime-movies-videos, reading (lots!) books coming and manga, and even writing in italian fanfics and roleplaying and playing few games... xD

One really needs days to be 3 times longer <.<

Yeah that's an issue I always had with the dragon rider genre. If you think about it as a human it's awesome. But from the Dragon's POV it's a little messed up, since they're sort of just enslaved at birth (in some cases to the point where they can't live without their rider).

EXACTLY xD
For now, Age of Fire, it's the first series i've seen to deal and explain clearly this point (and criticize it, even if there are also few good riders).
And honestly i've been very much happy to see all these thing exposed.

Both in Temeraire and in Eragon, dragons are actually bent and changed from their original natural form, only to please humans (first case) or elves (second case) and having less ferocious-natural dragons.

I know also of that T.Sutherland series (Wings of Fire) that should be all on dragons without hominids around Xd
But it appears to me it's more childish comparing to Age of Fire.

I read Wings of Fire. It is more childish (since it was written for children), but I enjoyed them. Though that may just be because I'm desperate for dragon based media.

I think of every "dragon-rider" series Temeraire is handling it the best. The dragons feel like characters instead of props, and it is addressing the fact that it's essentially slavery.

Yep yep true, and i hope/expect that more of these issues will be revealed in the last book.
I sort of think we could see Temeraire making some real to make some kind attempt for dragons politicies etc..
the name should be "Dragon league" if i'm right.

Oh cool! so you read Wings of Fire?
May i ask you:
1) if there is presence of humans, elves, dwarvs etc..
2) if dragons are organized in nations/tribes/clans (i guess yes)
3) if level of death-drama-graphic descriptions of fight  is the same like Warriors or slightly more mature
4) if there is some kind of coverage about the theme of matings, or it's just like warriors where two characters purring each others too much make kits x3

Heh. Dragon league would be nice.

And as for your questions.

1) Humans do exist. They're called Scavengers by the dragons. However them and the dragons cannot talk to each other. The dragons view the humans as very smart, tool using animals that can cause issues (a group of humans killing a dragon queen is what started the war). The human society isn't explored too much, but it seems like they live in small Hunter/Gather groups for the most part.
2) They are organized in nations based on types. Each nation is ruled over by a queen.
3) It can get pretty brutal at times, so I'm going to say yes here. We have dragons getting their throats torn out, being burned alive in lava, melted with acid, electrocuted, etc.
4) There isn't any romance past crushes. However since the main characters seem to be the dragon equivalent of pre-teens, this isn't that bizarre. Though there is some coverage of arranged marriages at one point if I recall correctly.

Uh... you aroused my interest on this series.
Generally speaking, protagonist characters are a bit flat or get some character developments?
Antagonists get some description or they're just villains?

Good for the fighting.
Not worry for the point4) i remember that if i'm right the series is still ongoing.
So i could expect that close the end there could be some hatchlings x3
(at least i hope).
It's mainly becaue i adore making fancomics about some jokes or contents, they're easy to do xD

Haha thank you! I had made also this prequel: Dragons meeting
But without the presence of AuRon from Age of Fire.

I could produce others in future... i know about the existance of Wings of Fire, another dragons-only series, but i'm little excited about it because i fear could be more childish and less mature compared the others.

Heh, Ramoth just can't get a break...at some point you should read one of the later Pern books; one of the ones where the dragons actually get decent screen time! "The White Dragon"'s a good one...the titular character Ruth gets a lot of screen time and dialogue, and is easily one of the most popular characters in the series (people aren't so sold on his rider, but you don't read the book for him). I actually skipped to this book first when I read the series (well, I read the Harper Hall stories first, but this one got me into the series)...I'd read a graphic novel of Dragonflight and wasn't really hooked (plus I didn't know what was going on; it was written for someone who'd read the books) but once I read TWD, I started liking the series...Jaxom and Ruth's bond has some similarities with Laurence and Temeraire's (well, vaguely...Ruth's still a Pernese dragon, so he's nowhere near as clever or independent as Temeraire, but the care for one another was there)...

Haha i admit that it's easy to exploit each character to fit a place into a fancomic.
And this is also for the other characters....

That's pretty cool! I'm starting to write something where Perscitia joins the failed Walcheren Campaign, which will turn her from a pragmatic capitalist to a cold-blooded revolutionary! And three years later ahistorically invade Bretagne, but that's more in the development phase.
