Dragon's Cure - part 1 by Kooskia Dragon's Cure - part 1 by Kooskia
(c) Kooskia (comic)
(c) Naomi Novik (original Temeraire's series)

First part of a pair of pictures for :icongoogynoober:
Actually i planned at first to make just one comic, but there was too much to draw and i split it in two parts, this is the first.

In the book Empire of Ivory the protagonists finds a cure for a plague that was killing the dragons, but the cure itself it's an african mushroom that seems to cause peculiar effects on the dragons.

Of course Dulcia's words came from "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" of the (c) Beatles

I love that in the books they were actually, kind of, experimenting on the dragons what would work. Like: Hey! a weird mushroom! Let's try that! I am a dummy!

exactly xD And i expect the last book to have some final conclusion and success of the elements of temeraire achieving some more legal power for dragons  (just the name "Dragon League", could suggest some organization)

X3
BTW, i've just finished Dragon Avanger.
(spoiler)
I liked it, even if in some way it was a bit slow then the first book (expecially the central part).
I got abit disappointed in some way about how bad she reacted to the poor Sadde-Vale dragons xD I mean... she didn't acted very bad with them, but neither very much friendly....
But i expect/hope to see more about it.
I've not had big issues with reading, i mean.. some terms not easy and some i guessed (lazy to check on g.translator sometimes). I think however to have found a small continuity misake with the little Jalu-Coke ...   first she's said to have already a litter of kits with her, then seems she give birth to them later. xD

Yay, now you can start Dragon Outcast; my all-time favourite of the books! Be aware that the first part of the book hurls a ludicrous amount of abuse on the Copper sibling and then takes a leaf out of Naomi Novik's wandering in the wilderness with nothing really happening...it's when the second part starts that the story properly gets going!

Don't worry, we haven't seen the last of the Sadda-Vale dragons...

Hmm...it's been a while since I've read it, so I can't recall...perhaps Jalu-Coke was talking about an earlier litter?

Oh hehe i sort of expected it i mean... being the early life of a character i guess it share a common basic "wondering" period as youth: Wistala has been lucky/unlucky in find her Father and then being rescued.

It's that is left a bit as minor thing... she's mentioned sort of 4 or 5 times in the book xD
But it seemed to me a little mistake because by the time they reached their new hope, Yari-Tab was pregnant and then gave birth... and Jalu-Coke is said to have done the same shortly after (or before? forgot it xD)

BTW.
I guess it could be fine (if Googy is fine) if you would like to suggest him something to be commissioned from me x3
He has not yet read the books, so it will be up to you to chose (if you would like to see something and if Googy agrees...)
I've found a number of events that could be drawn, in this book....

Hmm...probably a stuff up on E.E.Knight's part then...foreshadowing for the mistakes and confusing texts in the last book? One (particularly unfortunate) dragon that appears once in that book changes colour over the course of two sentences! "The red dragon was newly fledged...he was a dull silver". Urgh...I hate that scene...it's just disturbing and sad. Poor dragon.

Never commissioned anything before...how would I do it? As far as I know the only things I have on DeviantArt are some fifty Points that I won in the Temeraire trivia contest a while back. Plus I don't remember as many scenes from Dragon Avenger...perhaps I'll wait until you've read the later books and get a scene from the Lavadome!

That reminds me...a while back I wanted to create a family tree for the Lavadome dragons - it's a big family tree; I've already put one online that you shouldn't look at until you've read all the books because it's got massive spoilers about who shacks up with who...although you could always look at the preview thumbnail to get an idea of the size - that was illustrated. I'd just been watching I, Claudius again, and inside the DVD case was a simplified family tree of the Julio-Claudian Emperors; with certain characters highlighted and described in detail. I wanted to do the same thing here, but with profile shots of each dragon sitting above their names, and then below their names a brief summary of their history. Perhaps if I did end up commissioning something, I should get you to do their heads?

That's really cool, must've been extremely time-consuming.

Not really, it was just a lot of copying and pasting. THIS family tree, on the other hand, took a bit more work; amcalmaron.deviantart.com/art/…

If you have any ideas for fan comics or fan art you can note me. I'm interested in the cool scenes from Temeraire/Age of Fire/Pern and maybe something new of series.

There's plenty of great scenes in all of these books, but I don't want to spoil them for you if you haven't read them! Come to think of it, I should also read them again myself...some of the books I haven't picked up in a while, so I've forgotten most of the moments that made me laugh.

Although a scene from the Pern book Red Star Rising springs to mind; the day after bonding with the newly-hatched Morath (an event that was vaguely chaotic as her father tried to separate them; causing the young Morath to freak out and try to attack him with tiny teeth and claws), Debera slowly wakes to hear Morath pleading for food and simultaneously apologising for waking her up so early. Debera promptly leaps out of bed in a hurry, only to knock heads with Morath, who's been leaning over the bed.

It sounds like a nice scene. I like Pern dragons, because of their funny muzzles on fan pics (the whers are not so cute, though...) . You should send that scene to Kooskia. If he can draw this scene I'll order it.

Oh well.. um... i was thinking at first that maybe for "silver" was sort of a metaphor: as if he has red colour, but due youngness, his scales are so bright "as silver". But if the lines are distanced...
And after all the "dull" doesn't help. Maybe he was a dragon as Auron that could change colour? xD

BTW sometimes little mistakes are not so important. You've seriously attempted to contact the author? Maybe can be done, and even without making big criticism, can be given disinteressed for-free help from fans.

Oh... but don't worry x3 If you've not, there is no need for you to give me something. There is GoogyNoober that seemed to be very interested x3 You could talk with him and suggest him to commission this or this other scene.

Honestly i was thinking  of MAYBE drawing a fanart by myself and maybe a sort of confrontation Auron vs Wistala of their different life experiences. If i think could be better adding the Copper in the last panel, hintind for a sequel fancomic on him.

Hmm...well, I do have some notes left over from writing the plot summaries for the Age of Fire wiki - nowhere near as detailed as those done for the Dragonriders of Pern books though - although I've just discovered to my annoyance that I seem to have lost half of them as a result of a portable hard drive going bad. D'oh!

It would have to be the third book I'd commission things from (and I'll give you the points when I do)...perhaps even something like a Lavadome family photo, with Tyr FeHazathant sitting in the middle blissfully unaware of all the scheming going on around him!

Maybe wait until book four or later before doing the confrontation; AuRon, Wistala and The Copper all meet up in the fourth book, and gradually interact with each other more in the later books!

Understood xD but... don't know... it's intrigue me as plot.
I mean.. i've in mind it xD It culd just be basically a flashback scene or something of similar..
It's more somthing as..."I've howled with wolves... " and Auron around the pack. and on the right panel "I've... purred with a cute kitty!"  and you-know-what xD
And then going on.... "I've been the demi-god of  Blighters tribes"    "I've been ... a fortune-teller",  and "I've lead a Revolution"  vs "I've... let my enemies destroy each others".
Sort of... xD
