Please comment :Stamp: by KooboriSapphire Please comment :Stamp: by KooboriSapphire
:iconreadplz: PLEASE DON'T LEAVE COPY-PASTE COMMENTS (cool, nice, like the colors etc.)

To put this on you journal just put :thumb152504586: & it'll appear (for deviants with a subscription only)

Now, before you read on, this stamp is not a force stamp. Other people found that this stamp [link] &/or this plz :iconcommentplz: are demanding comments & how rude they are. Well they're not. They're a simple way of asking people to please leave a comment since most of them never get any comments (such as myself). But since those people don't wanna accept the facts on how it's not forcing, then they left me no other option but to make another stamp that sounds more polite.

A comment says more than a fave. Many people out there don't have any idea how frustrating it is to wake up, & see that your newest picture that you worked hours, days, weeks or even months on got over 30+ favorites & no comments on it. I myself work really hard on a picture, & barely anyone to no one comments. And I also see why others say getting comments sucks, because there are people out there who leave copy-paste comments such as "cool", "nice" & so on. But think about it, one comment or something like that is better than nothing.

Now onto faving. There are people out there saying "A fav is good enough" or "A fav is a compliment". Since when does a fav come by saying "OMG I really like how ______ looks, & the ___________makes it looks fantastic!" or "Looks really awesome! The_______turned out splendid, & I like how you______________to it. Wonderful job"? I don't see any of that in a fav (& I would also love to know what crack you people smoke s that I can see what a fave really says when they fave you works). In fact, I despise faves. You can see how much I hate a fave here [link] Since before I made that stamp, I've began ignoring the faves I get. When I look at the activity part of my messages, I just remove every fave & watch, not seeing what was faved or who faved it. I don't even go to the person's profile to say ""Thanks for the fav".

In fact, I really wish DA could do something about the faving factor. I wish they could allow a button that disables faves, & not allowing anyone to fave the deviation until they leave a decent comment on it. And if they'll try to outsmart that, they should allow a comment approval thing. Only allowing them to fave it finally after they leave a real decent comment that is not "cool" or "nice" or "cute" or etc. That'll shoe 'em.

I don't believe in forcing people to practise this. It should be a matter of choice and if you have nothing to say, then fine. Still, consider the thoughts of the artist you're viewing.

We know that not everyone is capable of leaving a constructive comment and often popular work is plagued with comments like 'cool', 'nice' and so on. It depends on the person, and some people will never change, but this stamp has already hit and changed quite a few people, who say they've felt better knowing they've made contact with the artists.

If you're too busy to leave a comment, then postpone the favourite until later. If you are the kind of person that favourites more than 10 things per day, then you're not using the system as it was intended. Favourites are a sign that you really like something, and should not be overused, or its value drops steeply.

Favourites are also not a way to seek attention for yourself - this is known as fave-bombing and is very selfish. Prove that you care by saying what you like about the piece. Critique and praise alike, comments are a form of human social interaction that favourites can never give. That's the kind of active community we want in deviantART :)

Now, after reading all of this, you still think this stamp is rude or forcing people to put comments, I am sorry, you (just like all the others who say the same thing) are an unappreciative imbecile who will bitch about anything related to commenting.

I plan to make a plz out of this, but, IDK how to make animated stuff. If someone out there does, please tell me how.

If you're one of those people who read this, wants to comment, but doesn't know what to say about a deviation, then you might like to read these great, & helpful deviations:
Compromise: [link] by =cozmictwinkie

Good comment Guide: [link] by #bringbackart

Constructive Critique: [link] by $realitysquared

And also, please don't become one of those irritating, annoying deviants who don't bother reading the description, & just put/ask stupid & embarrassing stuff as comments when it's all found on the artist comment. Which is why the "Read before you comment" stamp [link] & plz :iconreadplz: were made.

Also, almost forgot, if you really want comments, then join the :iconprojectcomment: group. This club is filled with many deviants who will guarantee comments on your deviations there. There are many people who have volunteered to comment, depending on what categories they've chosen to comment. I'm one of them. I'll comment any picture except for literature. Just send a note to me, I'll only comment 3-4 pics a week. But be patient also, it takes time. So, don't rush me if I haven't commented you pictures.

Ugh, I hear you on that one. I even have to put in special mentions (opinions wanted by her, him, etc.) and still, nothing from them. >.<

Using (just because I usually just get faves and it'd be nice for a comment or two on my stuff.)

Indeed...there's a reason I'm hesitant on uploading an OC ref on many people just fav and run them

Personally, I do appreciate favourites, but it does bother me very much when I get little or no comments on my work.  And while I understand why people would say "Cute" or "Nice" (I've done that myself, when I just don't know how else to say I like the art) I do prefer comments that show the other person has actually looked at my drawing.  I think I'll use this stamp if that's okay; maybe it will help.

Using ^^

I mean, favourites are nice and all, but I'd rather have comments than favourites. Especially constructive comments.

I think I'm going ot have to use this to get my point across...

Especially when somebody JUST favorite 130 of my deviations and didn't leave a SINGLE comment.......
Mythical-Luz Featured By Owner Edited Jul 9, 2016  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Oh my goodness SO MANY PEOPLE GET ME.

I absolutely hate favorites. I mean, sure someone like the art BUT Y U NO COMMENT!? Because it's basically just liking something without GIVING FEEDBACK WTF.

I do the same I don't care how many favorites I get I just care for the comments. In fact I have like 300+ watchers and only about 3-10 comment. .... ????

Funny enough I comment and don't favorite because I forget or either wayyyy too lazy just to click a button

It's true ^^ Comments make artists feel better than faves. Honestly, I don't know how to critique art, I'm still a beginner.

I really don't care if someone fave's and doesn't comment on my work XP It's really nice that they at least faved it. Why complain and be greedy?

Haha but seriously, this is a neat little stamp, and I agree, a comment goes a longer way than just a fav~

I totally didn't read most of your comments on this piece.  Just ignored them.  Like they weren't even there.  Nothing after "PLEASE DON'T LEAVE COPY-PASTE COMMENTS (cool, nice, like the colors etc.)", as if it didn't exist at all.  I'm pretending it doesn't exist.

I feel like I'm about to cry. For about 3 years, I got some comments to no comments on my work. I really hope that people will realize how we artist would like to know what other's think. And I couldn't agree more for this.

I know, it stinks! And I don't even get that much favs in the first place!
Arrelline Featured By Owner Oct 24, 2014
Well, I'm obviously have to repeat other people' sentences ;) but I'll say it anyway.
Thank you very much for mentioning this :).
I completely understand it, moreover, for me the comments mean literally everything (you said absolutely right that :+fav: can't reflect the feeling of the man looking at your picture). And sometimes, when one person gives several :+fav:es without a single comment, for me it looks like he/she doesn't care (and doesn't even think) at all about the pictures' author but only about his/her pleasure. In addition, the people who give too much :+fav:es usually don't ever review their "Favourites" folder again. They only look at the picture during those few seconds what takes clicking to full size and pressing :+fav: button, and then forget about it immediately after and never recall about it again.
So at another time, my sincere gratitude :).

I took like 4 - 5 hours on my ponified Elsa and I only got 21 favs and I only got 2 people commenting on it! >_>

Eagles-Rise Featured By Owner Oct 15, 2014
Definitely should happen with all art, people put time and effort into their work, please let them know that you like it, and what they can improve on! Don't just "fav & run", it just makes us feel under-appreciated.
TheSonicReploid Featured By Owner Oct 9, 2014  Hobbyist Writer
.... You've no idea how much I agree with this. I get a lot of faves, but almost no comments. It's not that I don't appreciate the faves but as you said, it is not the same as leaving an actual comment. I wish more people would comment on my things to let me know if they like it or they can give me polite suggestions on what I could be doing better. ...Or, y'know, maybe just chat with me because I love to talk to people and share interests?

I thank you for this. I will use.
Skylar-Sterling Featured By Owner Sep 16, 2014  Hobbyist General Artist
People should give the artist some sort of feedback so they know what to do next time. Just giving someone a fav is nice but everyone loves a comment here and there!
WandererInDarkness Featured By Owner Edited Sep 1, 2014  Student Digital Artist

i so agree with this, i often have this problem with some people who only fave and dont even comment :( i would have loved to have put it in my profile, but that wont be possible since im no a premium member  just out of curiosity, why is it some stamp makers on here only want premium members to put it on their profile, does it make a difference? just wondering...

I find it frustrating sometimes too but I always try to leave comments on things I like and also interact with a lot of people on DA and that raises the chances that people will look at your stuff too.

Finally someone says it.  I know the exact feel of getting like 15 favorites but 0 comments.  There's a reason why it states the number of comments below a deviation and has favorites on the side bar, below just about everything else.
Classically-DePunk Featured By Owner Aug 11, 2014  Student Writer
Thank you immensely for creating this stamp. As a writer on dA, comments are a most valuable but rare treasure.
The font is exceptionally lovely and classic.

Do you know if Project Comment is still accepting members? Also, as you mentioned your comments are valiavible for art only,do you know of anyone who provides comments for literature works?
Also, if they do, do they allow people to comment on their works? If so, I would like to return the favor if they do indeed.
KooboriSapphire Featured By Owner Aug 11, 2014  Student General Artist
I'm sure Project Comment is still accepting. And for your other questions, yes, they have members that will comment your literature so long as it's not what they're avoiding (it says it besides their names), & you can always return the comment optionally. You could also tell the group admins that you'd like to become part of their comment providers list.

Thank you immensely for explaining this information to me. This group sounds superb. I will join in the future and inquire to join the comment providers list.
