Marauder Shields 36: Memories That We Are (Ver. B)

The 36th Episode of the "Marauder Shields" Mass Effect Comic.
In this one... The strings of the puppeteer are cut, as a central character fights to wake up.
BACKGROUND MUSIC
Be sure to play this track in the background to upgrade your reading experience: [link]
OTHER VERSIONS
Shepard is a Spacer [link]
Shepard is Earthborn [link]
AFTERWORD
On the narrow path...
This episode concentrates on Shepard fighting to remember, to reignite the fire that the Reapers attempted to extinguish completely. As you might notice it also kills off the StarChild for good, assigning his face and role in the story prior to ME3's finale to a completely different backstory, different character, different meaning... Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do.
A full-on clarification about this arc and what it means is incoming in the next Shep/Thane episode, but those of you who like to create their own theories should already be able to piece this little puzzle together.
As our mid-season finale is finally around the corner (Episode 40!), expect the pace of the action to... Pick up significantly.
GENERAL INFORMATION
This is an ongoing story providing an alternative fan-made ending to the Mass Effect trilogy, with our own game-changing maverick transforming the course of history: Marauder Shields. Be sure to start reading at episode 6. Special thanks to MichelKobayashi and my awesome team, especially our editor - AdoreeLyssa!
Hope is alive!
[The Mass Effect universe, its design and characters are owned by BioWare/EA Productions. This is a work of parody and fan-fiction, created under the terms of fair use. Special thanks to BioWare for creating the world we all love and care for! I remain a huge ME & BW fan!]

Found this on related stuff. I've got to go back and read from the beginning. Just from this chapter I can tell you've somehow deepened the world for yourself and others. Mass Effect fans are really so creative and this is just lovely!
As a shameless Thanemancer and pro-Colonist Shepper, I may be biased <3

It never made sense to me, why the other backgrounds saw the forest in their nightmares...
You know, Shepard flew as a teenager from the slavers... SO a forest as a time of great fear made a lot of sense...
But a spacer or a urban child?
Great Episode, as usually
And I love Thane a spiritual Guidance, glad he could take a little break from the shore
I hope you will keep up the different versions

Nice, even one little line change just seems very significant, as everything in ME should have been.
Plus, i've been meaning to ask, been writing a story and runs parallel with Shepards and i was wondering if you minded me using the Marauder Shields storyline rather than Bioware's. Because i hated Priority: Earth barring a few little bits and honestly i think it would just read much better.

wow... this is just... incredible. I used to think that the kid at Shepard's dreams was some kid he met in the past--that's until the last 10 mins of the game. But now, I like it now where it's is going--Mass Effect without Starbrat--oh yeah
! And I also love how you put the pieces together through the codex; can't wait to see how the pieces unravel!

Thanks, Blacklight-District, much appreciated! ^^ I expected the dreams to be explained or an answer for them at least implied, was dissatisfied with the fact that in the end they just seemed to be there for... y'know, drama. What's more dramatic than slow-mo, kids and autumn, right?
Heh. Glad you like what I'm doing here! ^^
