Speedbump by KonekoKaburagi Speedbump by KonekoKaburagi
Name says it all...
That's the name my friend and I "jokingly" gave him last night. This is him drying out in the yard catching a little bit of sun. You can't see the HUGE slip on his neck in this picture, but it's bad.

If you don't like taxidermy leave the page and remember NEVER to use a phone while driving.... you"ll end up with this XD

how long was he left out? there is only a matter of time to skin a animal after it dies or else it starts getting bacteria and slips like crazy and has a lasting dead smell

sorry to hear that the tanning didnt go well for him

It was probably my own fault why he slipped. I git him airdried from a trapper, rehydrated him and waited a bit too long afterwards to tan him. Then the stuff I used (DixieTan paste) didn't work as well as I planned.

After my parents found him, they freaked out and I never saw him again :( I have only a small piece of him I managed to save.

what did your parents do to him? .-.

i would have freaked the fuck out if they messed with my dead critters, which is why they dont

its really sad that he didnt turn out as planned but you can learn from your mistakes and im glad you saved a small bit from him

My only guess is they threw him out in the neighbor's garbage when I was staying late at college :(
Since I finished Shinobu (my gray fox) my parents are a lot more tolerant.
I lock up all my tanning stuff just to be on the safe side.

I did tear up a bit... I mostly blame myself for what happened. But at least its all good now.
...and when I do move out I'm building myself a fur-shed :D

i dont see where you should be blamed for it, but eh. i love animals dead and alive and i hate the thought of them rotting away in landfills, even when i cant save anything from a critter i drag him into the woods so that they can rejoin nature naturally

and sweet :D im going to get a small cabin and its going to be covered in taxidermy, i plan to go to be a taxidermist

True. I yelled at my mom that if she didn't want me keeping him and he was beyond repaid she should have let me bury him next to our "pet cemetery".

That's awesome you're planning on taxidermy :D

I don't not like taxidermy, but it's one thing to preserve animals and another thing to disrespect the dead by joking.

His name was a joke. The rest of him is very serious, I'm hoping that his tanning works out well because he's very special to me.

Who are you calling dummy? Just because he doesn't have a brain doesn't mean he isn't smart LOL.
And I just checked on him... he's drying up very well :D
