It's a little something by komalo It's a little something by komalo
So this is a little something that i was working on, i don't know what i am going to make it, i have so many ideas based on the new effect like make the window explode and more.
by the way, can any know how to make a fire animation (normally not by programing)? i am thinking of trying to implement the fire effect of ubuntu on windows

the performance decrease due to the recording of the screen but it runs really fast
see the preview from the wmv file in the download

yes, i know, but it can't handle weak VGA cards, and this effect is not fully tweaked, at least from the last time i tried it, anyway i wanted to make the "Jelly Windows" effect on all windows os and with weak VGA, because i saw that everyone wanted this effect on windows

i decided to delay it, because of school and i already have another project to work on (border skin), i actually want to include this effect in border skin, but it is not currently stable enough

It looks promising, an alternative to Stardock's WindowFX ^^
Will it works on Vista and 7?

Something like Compiz Fusion is EXACTLY what Windows XP needs, although it would look AWESOME on Vista/7

From what I can tell, the fire effect is an opaque gradient that becomes transparent as you get toward the outside of the flares. I could develop some graphics if you need some. By the way, would these effects work well with BorderSkin, out of curiosity?

oh and i am not 100% sure if these effects will work with border skin, as i have some applies on window moving

well that that same thing i thought about too but i wanted to make it like an animation so the problem that i just need a fire effect that i can loop and i am not really great with graphics

P.S : it can be made by opaque gradient but it won't be the same active of the one with ubuntu

Ah, I see. I'm also quite adept with animations, and I could make a .GIF file for you, to show you what I'm thinking of.

Thanks, I actually dual-boot Linux so I'm pretty familiar with the Compiz fire effects. I'll link you to the animation once it's done.
