“Do we really have to help them?” Raiden sighed as he followed his Captain and mate towards the Pirate General store. Inasa, his mate, was in the lead, followed by Captain Killian and then himself. Inasa’s head turned to face him, her smile apparent as she spoke, “Yes! We’ve been on that boat for months, it’d be a nice change of pace. Plus, we gotta give a little every now and then. Can’t always be pirating.” Inasa knew the boys didn’t want to do this, they could honestly care less but, she was tired of doing nothing at sea, she wanted a little adventure at least. After they spoke with Metzi, a gorgeous Quetzalcoatl fooling, her excitement rose even with Metzi’s worried tone. “If you need me, I’ll be watching,” Ryujin said as he slowly descended back into the dark waters. Nikita smiled slightly as she watched him go, the fish-like kitsoo blending in with the waves of the ocean. Once he was out of sight, she made her way across the beach to her favorite sun-spot slowly as she was still getting used to her back left leg not being there. It was a miracle she was even alive after being thrown off the cliff and into the waters by a black kitsooling. It was Lord Ryujin who saved her that day, from drowning anyways. Upon reaching her favorite spot, Nikita slowly let herself down to lay and bathe in the sun. She closed her eyes, letting out a relaxed sigh. Knowing he would be watching, comforted her in a way. Sure, he was a kitsooling and she a tanooling, but she believed he cared about her more than he lets on. Then again, she has grown to admire him as well. Days passed since the fight with Nirveis and Ray grew more worried by the day. He had taken Deryk back to his place after the fight with the werefoo to treat him and watch over him until he woke up. It wasn’t much of a home, actually it was an abandoned home that Ray had decided to fix up. It was located near the wildlings forest, away from the villages and at least an hour away from town, but Ray owned it and no one has dared to disturb him. He had Deryk resting on his bed with a blanket over him for extra warmth. Ray thought he was dying one night when his body turned cold despite being right next to him and so he felt the need to add on a blanket. It was midnight when Ray awoke, having slept most of the day away beside Deryk. Alpha sighed as he left the boutique shop empty handed once again. He really didn’t like going to town, much less shopping for the holiday. The collar he wanted to get as a gift to Lyall for taking him in those few years ago, was out of stock and now on back order. This is what I get for trying to do something nice…damnit. Deryk lay still as blood seeped from his wounds, staining the ground beneath him. Ray ignored the danger, rushing past Nirveis to get to Deryk. He stared at him for a moment before saying in a horse voice, “Get up.” It was only a moment later, that Ray then nudged him, feeling how limp Deryk’s body was, he let out a soft whine, “Please…” You can’t die on me runt, Ray thought as he closed his eyes, paying no attention to the two foolings who walked up to them. Emotions Ray never thought he would feel, welled up inside of him, threatening to spill over. He was close to a breakdown. Nirveis started to go in for the kill when Barnum and Azy caught his attention. Luca and Tauri stood next to Ray and Deryk, unsure of what to do, but deciding to watch the fight. Omma and Koschei were planning an escape route out of here if need be. “Damnit, this bitch is tougher than he looks,” Azy yelled out. “Ray! Prompt 4, Of Monsters and Deceptions.

As the group walked through the cavern, a sudden scent hit Deryk’s nostrils. Blood, he thought, and Ray smiled. “Ah the smell of iron, I wonder if dear Nirveis is dead.” Ignoring Ray, Deryk broke into a sprint, charging head first into the unknown, unaware of the horror that awaits him. He rushed in with a purpose as he escorted this fooling into the dangerous cave, now he must save him. The dim lighting ahead signaled that he was almost there and the rush of paws hitting the ground behind him told of his companions following in suit. When Deryk burst from the darkness of the hallway and into the light of a cavern, he froze. Omma, Luca, Koschei and Tauri were struggling to stand, growling at the beast before them. It seemed they had been fighting for awhile as blood covered their fur. They hadn’t seen Deryk yet and went in for the attack, but the beast flung them off like it was nothing.
