Love this. It invokes a feeling of engagement or despair while simultaneously fighting back against that feeling, this can symbolize a multitude of different things, and people can feel that they can connect to the picture, which is something every artist should strive for. The cross hatching you did looks amazing, near flawless, and even if the picture isn't done it looks done, it has that aura or feeling of "I'm enough" or "I'm good enough", which can tie back in with the whole symbolism thing. Your anatomy looks great, a little indistinguishable but with shading and highlights in the right areas and that can be fixed right up. The only thing that I could deem 'wrong' in this picture is the chain, depending on whether or not the animal/creature has abruptly halted or has slowed to a halt, the more force the chain should show. The pose that the creature is in implies that its fighting against that chain, so making the chain a little tighter, or it could just be jumping while being led, in that case, try to make it a bit more apparent.

Overall, great piece, 8.5/10 from me, keep up with the amazing work.

The cross hatching looks so neat and controlled, and also gives definition to the muscles, nice work! The thick line around the edges also creates the bold presence of a graphic or tattoo style. All in all, the drawing has a refined appearance with meticulous attention to detail and a graceful silhouette.

The critique I'd give would be to include the entire tail in the image for a smooth and continuous line, and maybe remove the blurred edges.

Your art is really creative, and I always enjoy seeing your work...especially since I love min pins, and the creatures you draw remind me of those. ^_^

A few things come to mind.
1) This creature is in a position suggesting that it's fighting against the tension from the chain, yet the chain itself looks relaxed. There is also no tension from the joint where the chain meets the neck.
2) The muscles look sculpted, like armor. They have no tension themselves, suggesting that they are flexible or being deformed.
3) I can't tell if the white parts on the body are parts like bones, fat, or tendon connections for the muscles, or are they holes? They don't seem quite clear in those aspects. If they are physical, they should have their own shading. IF they are holes, then they should be consistent for certain parts of the body. If they are bioilluminescence, then they need to be indicated with some shading or light emission.

Wow, I absolutely love the creature in this and your style does it a great service!

Vision: I gave it full credit for the vision. What can I say? The creature is incredibly cool, and you made it interesting by giving it something to interact with/some symbolic relevance (the chain on its neck).

Originality: It is a canine-like creature. Those are pretty common here on dA (including in my own gallery, of course). But your style - the sleek, muscle-on-skeleton look you give this creature and some of your others - adds something we don't see as often.

Technique: I don't know exactly what tools you used to create this piece, but your linework and shading are VERY pleasing to the eye! The only criticism I have is with regards to the pose. The way the front legs are pushed forward, it looks like the hellhound is straining backwards away from the chain, but because its back feet aren't on the ground - the toes are pointed down, as if they're in the air - it's a bit hard to understand what's going on, and it takes away from the movement in the piece. Posing the feet as if they are solidly on the ground might help; alternatively, relaxing the front feet so they are also floating might make it look more ethereal and less like the animal is supposed to be moving any specific way.

Impact: I struggled a bit with this one because I do LOVE this picture and don't like giving it below 4 stars anywhere, but I think the way it's cropped (with part of the tail missing) is also distracting from the main "action" of the picture.

Overall though, it's really cool. You have an awesome, spooky style that is evocative of emotion in the linework and shading alone. I hope we'll see lots more from you!

Nicely done with this piece. I'm no expert but hope my opinion counts. Really like the line work you did with this, extremely neat. A fantastic original idea here, dark shading goes well with its satanic look. The horns here are also done to a high degree of accuracy which can often turn out messy or not pointy which is most likely to happen, but here it looks again very neat and tidy. Not sure about the fading in the borders but that's personal preferences. From a fellow watcher extremely well done and I hope to see more great ideas like this in the future!

When elegance and darkness meet, they form the perfect shapes. U know, I feel that this chain won't live long)) A very beautiful creature, great choice of colors, profound symbolism nd no heavy extra details. I definitely love the pic!

This would make such a beautiful tattoo, I really like the combination of smooth forms filled in with rough crosshatching

Sure, but I will then draw Juno. He is this character's brother.
