USS Bonhomme Richard Data Sheet by Kodai-Okuda USS Bonhomme Richard Data Sheet by Kodai-Okuda
The first major refit of the Constitution class of heavy cruiser, this class was built to fight in the 4-years war against the Klingon D7 type battlecruisers.  Therefore the weapons of this class of Constitution has twelve phaser banks on the saucer instead of just six (six banks of two instead of just three).  This class also did away with the spatial torpedoes in favor of larger photon torpedo launcher bays that hold more photo-torps and can fire faster than the original class.  The Bonhomme Richard class was the class of ship that Captain Pike commanded during and after the 4-years war.  This class was built in large numbers to fight the Klingon Empire.

Hello:
Very cool! I fonally got to see your version of the Constitution class we all know and love :) .

The transition from mixed-launchers for spatial and photon torpedoes surely makes the design less cluttered and busy, making it to look more elegant and functional.

Hi Chiletrek,

Thank you.
The next phase is the Captain Kirk style which is the Achernar class.  That is the last one before the Excalibur and Enterprise class ships.
Did you check out my version of the STD Sarcophagus ship yet?
Tell me what you think....even if you hate it! :D

Hello:
 You are welcome :) .

Ohh? So there will be another version then? Would it be because it was, accoring to your description, so widely used due to the circumstances?

I haven't checked it until now, but let me tell you his: Taking it from someone who'll make his own Sarcophagus ship? I don't hate it... but your version is huuuuuuge :happybounce:

Hi Chiletrek,

Yes, there are actually few more Constitution class type ships up to the ST:TMP ship.
Here is the blueprint I use for my Connies.

www.cygnus-x1.net/links/lcars/…

This is the second sheet.

www.cygnus-x1.net/links/lcars/…

There is a 3rd sheet but I will not be using those ships.  I actually have a Connie that uses the warp engines of the Constellation class and one that uses Excelsior style (meaning the look of but Constitution class style) engines.
The build up of Federation ships (and the builk that were constructed) were during the Cold War with the Klingon Empire.  After the events of ST:6 UC (Undiscovered Country), that fleet gets repurposed for galaxy exploration and the vast majority of the older ships are put into depot or scrapped and used for newer designs.  It is not until the Cardassian War with the Federation that new warship designs are built.

My version of the ship is as per the Eaglemoss data.

The Klingon ships in STD are ridiculously large.
I will keep with that, but I am making them very primitive compared to the much smaller Federation ships.
I will not be using the Federation ships from STD since they do not fit into my technological evolution of Starfleet vessels.
As an aside, I view the new STD Klingon fleet as being like the Zentraedi fleet from Macross. The Sarcophagus ship is a flagship, then there is a command ship, a standard battleship, destroyer, and so forth down to pickets.  The whole fleet is old (hundreds of years) and no match for Federation ships, despite their enormous size.  That is why the Klingons have been slowly replacing their ancient fleet with more modern designs.

Hello:
I can see all those designs as constant upgrading or experimenting with the ship design they'd use the more, afterall it is meant to carry-out the Federation flag, isn't it?

I also agree that after ST:6 tat the Federation restarted exploration as a full-time job while they started gathering resources to start designing new generation ships with all that has been learned.

The sarcophagus ship seems to have been an uncredited design by Atolm, heavily modified though, the guy that designed the Luna class (USS Titan) made a drawing I plan to use to make my own version from -> Klingon Pre TOS Sarcophgus Ship Grid

So you'll be making more ST:D-inspired Klingon ships to make their older fleets? Likely to get their last taste of action before the new ships appear?

Hi Chiletrek,

I would assume so, yes.  The point of the Federation starfleet is to carry the flag of the Federation to the four quadrants of the galaxy.

Wow, never seen Atolm's design before, thank you for the link.
My design is based on the Klingon D7 and John Dickenson's drawings.

I will be making more STD ships, but they will be modified into Matt Jefferies/Franz Joseph style.

Hello:
So, if they have a main ship to do som, then it would likely be the ne receiving the most number of upgrades ;) .

No problem, I remember watching that ship aeons ago but I never liked it too much ^^; ... I might give it another chance. If there is 1 design I always loved from Atolm was the Battlestar Chrysaor (Medusa class) :) .

 I agree and understand, you'll do great :) .

Hi Chiletrek,

Yes, the Constitution class type ships in my ST:CU are an extension of the Moscow/Baton Rogue class ship.

It's a beautiful ship!  I very think the Federation should have been a little more militant then it was in the later series.....

Thank you.
I agree.  The 4-years war should have caused the Federation to build much larger and more powerful ships.
The STDverse will likely see that happen as the ships are huge compared to ST:TOS.
For my ST: Classic Universe I will be mixing the the Kelvin, Discontinuity (STD), and normal timelines together, however all of them will have to conform to the Matt Jefferies-Franz Joseph-Rick Sternbach style of aesthetic.

Although, by the end of the Dominion war, the Federation went strait into the Cold War with the Borg....  So they started building up on there military might.

True.
However, I wish we'd have seen Dreadnoughts in the show more often.  Especially Constitution and Excelsior class ships since by ST:TNG those craft would be in need of upgrade beyond just a refit.
