My version of the STD "Sarcophagus" starship.
The idea behind my version is that it is a massive mobile base/Flagship which is commanded by the leader of one of the Great Klingon Houses.  There are only a dozen of these ships (of the original 24) left by the time of the 4-years war, as many were either lost in conquest or converted into the "House Fortress" of a respective Klingon High Council member within the capital star system of their respective province/territory of the Empire.  Only one of these ships was used during the 4-years war and lost.  Most clans will not risk this symbol of their power over their respective clan.

Yep, that's the official size of the sarcophagus ship.
I think it is ridiculous, but most of STD is ridiculous.

STD: STUPID TERRIBLE DECISIONS. although I must say it does fit the IMPERIAL sized ego that the less practical early Klingons would have had. it also makes sense for the house system. also, it makes sense for use Early during the expansion of the empire because ships were still really slow so you had to bring everything with you. so much like a Star Destroyer, it is a literal symbol of power. can't imagine too many species having the balls or ability to put up a fight once this monster warps in with fleet in tow.

I took the Zentraedi/Star Wars Imperial approach with the STD ships.
I figure they are few and far between and used by the heads of the Klingon houses, the Emperor, and the high command and that's it.

Really wonderful. And the right Klingon style. Honestly, I always miss this concept of a flagship of the Great Klingon Houses. But the implementation at STD, unfortunately, is a disaster.
But this one, WOW. Especially that you did it so slowly. And not as a truck with racing car speed. Very nice detail.

Inspired by your model, I decided to create my own version  "Sarcophagus" spaceship.
Please, tell me what you think.

Thank you.

I will check out your design, and I'm glad to see more people re-imagining the Star Trek Discovery ships.
Maybe if enough of us re-imagine them, CBS will get the hint and fix the damage.

Hello:
The ship has a frakking shipyard!? that sounds great actually! What can this class of ship build? :plotting: .

I can see you've designed it based on Atolm's... ehh... I mean, the ship from ST:D. I like hoe you made it more TOS-like... yet totally unlike all we saw from ST:E.

Speaking of designs, I did find some concepts for a smaller ship, it fits the T:D Klingons but it is too Eldar-style -> ncc-1031.com/starships/klingon…

Hi Chiletrek,

Yes, it can build ships that are 400-meters or less in length (so everything up to a D7 is possible).
This ship is basically a mobile base.

I did not use Atolm's design.  Seriously, I had not seen it until you showed it to me.
Thank you for that though.
I do not hate, nor like, STE.  I think Enterprise could have been better in terms of how they handled the technology.  I loved the stories of STE, and the actors and actresses did an amazing job.  Just like with STD.  I find the acting to be great, the story is so-so (if they got rid of the Tardegrade that would help).  My biggest problem is with the technology being totally removed from the evolution that took 50-years to establish.

Thank you for that link. :)

Hello:
A battlestar on steroids :) . Just imagine having a beast like that in a RTS game like Armada2 :plotting: .

It is not your fault :) . There is one video of Trekyards, I think the one they talk about the Enterprise-J and they had the ship's designer with them, he talks about how he would have made STE... believe me, if the producers would have listened to him it would have been amazing!

 You are welcome :) .

Hi Chiletrek,

INDEED!! :D
STD is Battlestarship Discovery so giant Cylon-Basestar size ships for the Klingorcs just goes along with the whole theme of the show.

I'll have to find the video on the Enterprise-J and watch that one.

it's already a vast improvement to that flying scrapyard in STD, this looks more canon and alot better.

well done on this :)

I'd like to think so. I used the Klingon ships from STE and the D7 from ST:TOS as my guide.
The images from ST:TOS I used were these studio shots of the D7 model.

Combining a green surface texture with a lavender set of lights was not easy (on any of my Klingon ships).
