Morning Song

Time to rise, sleepy head,
Morning's here, get out of bed,
Jam and butter for your bread –
Time to do.
What will happen this fine day?
What new thing comes, I cannot say,
But something good will come your way --
The day's brand new.

Time to rise, sunshine,
Not a day to frown or pine,
Birds are sitting on a line
To sing for you.
Time to rise, sleepy head,
Morning's here, get out of bed,
Jam and butter for your bread –
Time to do.
Something a little different than I usually write...

It is, isn't it? It was a fun, happy rhythm that jumped into my head and it needed happy words....
I thought that that was really cool.

Thanks! This was an odd piece...I got the rhythm in my head before I had words...then I wrote some nonsense words out so I would remember the rhythm of it, and then, the poem came out of that...Sometimes, that's what happens to me...
