A week after their visit to the silkie homeland, the Wayne family are swimming to the underwater homeland of the fairies to gather the nectar. Emerald feeling a little under the weather by eating something that didn’t agree with her stayed back on the sub. Stewart, the only one of the group, was wearing a breathing apparatus and a propelling device to help him swim better. Although he still hates the taste of those pills he has to take. Alana in her reluctance know that she has a responsibility to gather the nectar for the ceremony, even if it is against her least favorite merfolk tribe. Kyle being the beloved husband that he is hold her hand as they both swim towards the underwater biome. “I know it wont be easy for you when we visit lemuria, Alana.” Kyle said to his wife as Alana gave him a half smile. “But I want to say how proud I am for you.” Alana can feel the warmth coming from his hand. “Thank you, darling.” Alana said. “I will try to find a way to make peace with them, it’s just going to take some time.” The whole Wayne party including lavender and Leo entered the entrance to the fairy biome. When they surfaced they saw an enchanting forest like area which really takes their breathe away. With the exception of Stewart, the rest of the family reverted back to their human forms as they dried off on the land. Stewart then noticed a blue leaf tree that bore what look like pink fruit. The Jamaican boy plucked one out and try to eat it, only for Viola to stop him from trying to eat it. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” Viola said. “Why, is it poison?” Stewart replied. Viola simply responded back. “No, but it will give you the runs.” Stewart chuckled a bit. “I’ll try to avoid it then.” He replied. Just then Lavender arrived next to Viola as she offers herself to ride her. Viola mounted on her as the hippocampus started to trot on the land. Stewart gave a little snicker. “What?” Viola said. “Nothing.” Stewart replied. “You just look like Lady Godiva riding.” Viola simply blushed as she simply can’t deny that as she was riding a horse like creature and she is currently not wearing a stitch of clothing. Soon Kyle, Sam, Leo, and Violet arrived along with the trident. They start to discuss their mission. “Ok, here’s the plan.” Kyle said to everyone. “Before we left, Nero told me that the fairy nectar that we need for find is the nectar of a queen fairy.” Everyone agreed with him. “Where’s Alana?” Stewart said. “Mom’s right over there.” Sam said, pointing to the east where Alana was standing just a few yards where she stands. Her heart still uneased about this mission. Out of all merfolk tribes, this tribe bore her the most resentment. “Anyway.” Kyle said. “Like before we are splitting up into groups of two, not including animals.” Everyone agrees with them all. “Sam, Leo, and I will look in the north. While Viola, Violet, and Lavender search in the west. Which leaves Stewart with Alana.” This was it, Stewart is finally going to bond with Alana. Viola gave a smile to her boyfriend. “Come on Violet.” Viola said to her as she help the little mergirl on her hippocampus. “We will report back her in an hour.” Kyle said. The two mergirls gallant off while Sam, Leo, and Kyle headed out, but not without giving Stewart a pat on the shoulder out of encouragement.

Stewart walked over to Alana who was deep in thought. “Your husband said that you and I should look for a fairy hive in the east.”Stewart spoke. “Oh… of course.” Alana agreely replied. As the two walked, Stewart really wanted to talk to Alana about anything. For so long these two were friendly but they never really truly bonded. “Were you able to phone your father, wishing him a happy Father’s Day yesterday?” She said. “Yes.” Stewart answered. “He was very happy to get a call from me.” “I’m glad to hear that.” Alana said. “I’m guessing you don’t have those kind of holidays in Atlantis, do you?” Stewart asked. Alana shook her head and replied. “No, we do have a few holidays but nothing that would celebrate a day for a mother and father, except the birth of their child.” Alana look over the horizon as she continued talking. “Come to think of it, we don’t have birthdays either.” “No kidding?” Stewart asked. Only for Alana to shake her head. As they walk Stewart curiously asked. “What was it like for you growing up in Atlantis?” Alana gave a gentle smile at the question. “It was beautiful, I loved everything about my home and my culture, but it was a bit boring. As young merkids we were never allowed outside the zone outside Atlantis.” Stewart was getting to know more about Alana now. “My father would tell me stories about humans dumping their filth into oceans, to hunting whales, to kill anything that would frighten them. And for a while I did believe him.” Stewart can see that Alana, even as a young mermaid had the same problems as any human kid. “I argued with him that we just simply find an area where there were no humans to be seen. But he also told me about the different tribes of merfolk, like the lemurians, who were just as savage as any humans.” Alana then noticed two fairies fluttering off in her direction. “Those are fairies?” Stewart said. “They look more like butterflies.” “They kind of are.” Alana replied. “Despite what you hear in fairy tales, they are basically bugs.” As they continued on to that direction, Alana continued her story. “One day my parents decided to take me outside the barrier to see a return migration of a pod of humpback whales.” Stewart smiled at hearing this part of the tale. “It was the first time I’ve ever left outside the area and it was a long journey, and the area had strong currents that can stretch for miles, but it was worth it. The whales were very beautiful. But that would be the day that I would loose everything.” Alanas face turned somber. “As we headed back, we saw a whaler ship. The humans detected us and sent down depth chargers.” Stewart was shocked. “They sent down depth charger at you and your parents?” Stewart said, still shocked at hearing this while Alana gave a nod. “We did manage to avoid some of them, but one was close to me and it exploded. The shockwave pulled me into one of the ocean currents and I was sept away, miles and miles away from my parents.” Stewart shocked at hearing this looked at Alana more compassionately. “That must have been frightening for you.” He said. “It was.” Alana replied. “When I woke up, I only got a few scratches from the explosion, but, I was in a unfamiliar part of the ocean and I couldn’t find my parents anywhere.” The sad feeling in Alana’s tale really touched Stewart heart. “I never told Kyle about this, but a few days after I got seperated by my parents I saw two lemurian merfolk nearby. I was going to ask them for help, but I saw them torturing and beheading a hippocampus.” Alanas words were overwhelmed with disgust. “I never felt so scared in that moment in my life. I just swam away from them.” “How long were you by yourself?” Stewart asked. “A week, maybe, two. I didn't keep track of time.” Alana replied. “Then one day I awoke seeing two objects up at the surface. At first, I thought it might be other merfolk, but then after I woke up entirely, I saw that they were humans using wooden boards to ride the waves.” Stewart know this part of the story. “When you’ve met Kyle.” He said. “Oh, he’s already told you this story already?” Alana asked. “Yeah, but I would like to know what you’ve felt?” He asked back as Alana replied. “Well, at first, I just wanted to swim away from there as soon as possible, but then I saw a very handsome human boy with blonde hair, and pretty green eyes.” Alanas words were more warm and kind this time. “No matter how hard I try, something about this human seemed different than what my father said. The way he used to ride the waves make him look so merman. I couldn’t help but get close to him, until he saw me in the wave I was hiding in and I just swam away.” Both of them were getting tired from the walk and decided to sit down for a while. “I didn’t know why, but I couldn’t get Kyle’s face out of my head. I remained by that shore until one day I saw him again surfing by himself. He was doing great until he got in trouble as the waves hit him so hard that his head hit a rock and was in danger of drowning.” Stewart is enjoying Alana’s version of the story. “I had to help him, so I brought him to the shore. When he woke up, he was very frightened by my appearance, yet he didn’t run away. But as the sun dried my skin, I reverted back to my human form which greatly blushed Kyle.” Stewart chuckled at Kyle’s obvious reaction as Alana smiled as she continued her story. “As I try to stand up I fell and Kyle caught me, it was at that moment, we both felt something. Neither of us knew that at the time, but I may have believe that was the bond of being a soul mate.” “That must have been some first meeting you’ve had.” Stewart said. “It was.” Alana responded. “I couldn’t understand his language at the time and visa versa. But he was kind to me, he even used a boat sail to cover my body. I was already aware that humans have a strict taboo against nudity so I didn’t argue with him.” Alana smooth her hair and smiled warmly of the memory of meeting her husband. “He took me to his home where he offered me food and clothes, I’ve always been under the impression that humans were savages, but Kyles home was so interesting and tranquil.” “Of course, I didn’t stay in his small house considering that his parents would most certainly be aware of me and they would be more shocked at seeing a mermaid in there own home.” Alana then picked an orange fruit of a purple leafed tree next to her and tossed it to Stewart. “It’s ok, this kind of fruit wont give you the runs.” Alana said. Stewart smiled as he at the juicy delicious fruit as Alana continued her story. “Fortunately, there was a small beach cave close to his home where I’d stayed. Over the next few weeks learned English from Kyle, it wasn’t easy, but it was worth it, even adopting new human costumes, like gaining a name for myself when we went to the museum, or the first time I saw a movie in 3D, or visiting a mall.” Stewart could relate moving to a new location, especially to a new country. “I know how you feel.” Stewart interjected. Alana went back on her story again. “Slowly, I was starting to fall in love with him. And when he took me to the amusement park, we had our first kiss.” “Eventually, Kyle’s parents discovered my secret, but I was more than happy when they accepted me.” As they resume there journey together Alana asked Stewart a question. “Kyle told me that you are thinking about getting a fulnir necklace so you can experience what being a merperson is like?” “Yes.” Stewart said as he nodded in response. “You know, it’s funny.” Alana said. “When Kyle’s parents took me in I felt like part of the family, even his friend Chad who also found out my secret was like a second sibling to me. It was so fascinating learning about human family customs, such as holidays, schools, working environments, and sports. But, I always felt a little alien being the only mermaid within a family of humans.” “I know how that feels.” Stewart said. “When my family first moved here I felt like someone out of place.” Alana feels the empathy from the boy for whom she hope will someday perhaps become her future son in law. “Kyle and his family try to help me find my home, but after years of searching I decided to at least settle with the love of my life and my new life on land. I remember my wedding day with Kyle, It had an undersea vibe that greatly reminisce my life underseas. Shortly after that I found out I was pregnant.” Stewart was more invested in hearing this part of the story. “Kyle was so ecstatic at hearing he was going to be a father.” Alana said. “During my pregnancy, he treated me like a queen. He was always there when I got morning sickness, or carried me around when I was sore, or drew me a hot bath. He even endured my weird cravings.” “Cravings?” Stewart said. “Yes, my cravings.” Alana replied. “They were more bizarre than the average human. One time I had a massive craving for octopus with ketchup, mustard, lard, chives, tomatoes, whip cream, sour cream, and bbq seasoning on top.” Stewart felt unease and amazed on what alana ate. “I know, it was disgusting.” Alana said. “But that’s what I’d craved. After nine months, I started having contraction's and went into labor. I needed the ocean to help me give birth, but I was fully clothed. Fortunately, Kyle helped me out of them, even ripping some of them off as we both dived into the ocean together. We has a secluded spot where Kyle helped me give birth. I was in so much pain, but after five hours of labor I gave birth to Viola. I gave birth to a mermaid.” Alanas eyes were almost teary at the memory. “For once in my life on land I was not alone. I loved playing with Viola under the sea, she is truly a beauty. A few years later Kyle and I were blessed with Sam as well. I had two merfolk children, and I was more than happy.” Alanas smile did falter a bit. “But, then I noticed that Kyle was left out. In families we always share things together but my husband could never truly share what we can do. Even with chad’s inventions, Kyle can only be a visitor to my world but never know what it means to be merfolk. When I stayed with him and his family I did feel alien and now he was the one who felt alien.” Stewart could only imagine how painful it must have been for all of them. “That must have been tough?” He said. “It was an intense sore spot for him.” Alana replied. “When I was growing up in Atlantis, I shared everything with my parents, I even see other merfolk kids who also share their daily lives with theirs.” “When Kyle got his fulnir necklace, how did you feel when he could transform into a merman?” Stewart said to Alana. “I cried.” Alana said. “In fact, all of us cried for Kyle, I never thought I could share that part of myself with him, to step into a world that was just until now a concept for him.” “It must be nice.” Stewart said. “To breathe the sea, to explore the lowest parts of the ocean, to see what man cannot.” Alana smiled happily at the notion. “It’s a wonderful experience” she said. “When this is over I will try to contact Reuben or Dylan and make sure to get you a necklace. Although, I should also let you know that it will take some practice for you to transform.” Suddenly, Alana got a message on her write communicator and answered it. “Mom.” Said the voice from the comm. “Mom, it’s Sam, we found a fairy hive where dad and I are.”

Stewart, Alana, Viola, Violet, and Lavander all went to Kyle and Sam’s location. When they got there they see a blue and pink tipped leaf tree with a hole in the trunk that housed all the fairies, and in the middle of the nest settles the queen fairy surrounded by her royal nectar. Kyle tries to scoop up a jar of nectar but Alana tries to prevent her husband from doing that noticing that many of the fairies were about to attack Kyle. “We can’t simply collect the nectar without looking hostile to the queen.” Alana said. “How are we suppose to do that?” Sam said. “I might have a solution.” Violet said as she brought out a couple of green and orange flowers from her bag. “These are called Pione flowers, the pollen contains a tranquillizing effect on the fairies. Me and Viola collected them while we were searching for fairies.” Violet sprinkled the pollen on the fairies which made them extra sleepy, especially the queen. Kyle then scooped up the nectar. “Mission accomplished.” He said.

Back at the sub, Alana wearing her bathrobe while reading marine biology books had a knock on the door. “Come in.” She said. Stewart entered. He too was also wearing his bathrobe. “Oh Stewart.” Alana said. “What can I do for you?” He went up and sat opposite of Alana. “I just want to say Alana, it was nice having a conversation with you.” Stewart said. “Oh, thank you.” Alana responded. “You know, it’s funny.” Stewart said. “What?” Alana asked. “When my family and I moved from Jamaica I still retained my accent. But when you moved with Kyle, you sounded and acted like a typical American human.” Alana smiled at the comment and simply replied. “Yeah, I adapt very fast. When I was reunited with my parents they barely recognized me.” Stewart also informed Alana that they will reach Lemuria in a couple of days for which she nod in agreement. “You know, I know that you have working on forgiving the lemurians for what they have done.” Stewart said. “But just remember, you used to be afraid of humans until you met Kyle and built a family with him.” “You’re right.” Alana replied. “So maybe, you should try to give the lemurians a second chance.” Stewart said. “I’m just saying.” “I will.” Alana replied. Alana knows that she has moved on with her resentment and move on. Soon enough, the Wayne family are making their way to Lemuria and the last gift exchange before they reach Atlantis.

And we learn a bit more about Alana's past with Kyle too.

Not to mention, depth charges being dropped on merfolk?! Again, who does something like that?!
