The day is perfect for traveling as the sound of the transports wheels move along the trail. The sound of trotting in front of the wagon as a Rapidash carries a convoy of a few pokemon who are traveling out of Tabira.
Thanks to the hard work of former Tracker leader Gunnar, travel has now become easy for Team Pathfinders who jumped at the change to grab a transport to a new location with new tasks to be handled. Though Sonya and Yang have different views and personalities, one thing they do share is the want to see new places they haven't seen before.
Once they heard there were new task in different locations they haven't been to before yet heard stories of, they immediately jumped at the chance to take a transport as soon as they were able. Yet perhaps a bit too soon.
Sonya lays on the floor of the wagon her and Yang are occupying together. A bit tired after an event she did right before they got on to leave. Yang herself sitting upright in the wagon with her legs up to her chest and resting her back against the wooden edge of the wagon.
Their first destination being a place called Rivercross Acres. Word of how they required volunteers to help plant and care for crops being a simple enough mission Sonya thought Yang could tackle. After their escapade with Xavier a few weeks ago, Sonya hopes that a little farm tending can help lift her spirits for a while.
And after that, Sonya would tackle the task of guarding the crops during the night. She may not like mornings, but Sonya being a night 'mon can easily stay awake late. So she figured Yang would handle the day shift while she the night, spread the workload between them. Though that's just one reason why she'd rather do the night guard duty by herself.
Sonya glances up to Yang from her position. Yang staring up across watching the trees and plant life pass them by.
Her main concern is that they were warned of the possibility of running in to bandits. She figured they wouldn't be dumb enough to try to rob crops during the day time when everyone was working the fields. Night being the most likely possibility due to everyone being asleep and it's dark some could get away. So she choose to do a night shift of guarding the crops while Yang either leaves for the other destination they're going to after called Mosswood or just remains in the place they'll sleep in at Rivercross.
It's likely I'll have Yang go to Mosswood first. Less chance she won't run in to any bandits. Sonya thinks to herself looking forward as she rests her head in her arms.
Sonya trying to think of a way to make sure Yang doesn't face any bandits while they're in Rivercross. After the freak out she had with Xavier, Sonya knows her friend isn't ready to face another bandit, or two, any time soon. So ensuring her teammate doesn't have to face any and stay safe is her main concern for the moment. Even if she's very tired at the moment.
Yang herself is a bit nervous as she watches the different things around them pass by as they move. Like Sonya, she too is worried about if they'll run in to bandits like they were warned. Apart of her worried because she knows she's not ready yet to face another bandit.
Which is frustrating to the shiny Mienfoo as deep down she desperately wants to say she won't freeze up like before and be more confident she can support Sonya. Yet she'd only be lying to herself and only let Sonya down if she tried to lie about being capable of handling it.
Yang sighs through her nose, then looks to her teammate who looks quite tired as her eyes are droopy while she stares ahead. Sonya's eyelids threatening to close yet she seems to be fighting it.
Yang looks a bit amused seeing this. Figuring something is on her mind yet she's busy thinking about it that she won't fall asleep yet until she's figured it out. An event that happened before they went on this transport making Yang recall just why Sonya is so tired.
"You know Sonya, you had a pretty intense spar just a few hours ago." Yang starts to say grabbing Sonya's attention immediately. Sonya looking to her at the corner of her eye. "You should really rest a bit. We have a while til we get to Rivercross Acres."
Sonya lets off the feeling of irritation as Yang brought up the reason why she's so tired.
Before they got their transport now, Sonya had gone to see the trainer Marble for one quick session. Sonya wanting to be ready to face new tasks in new locations so Marble decided a good old spar would help determined if she's improved or not.
What Sonya wasn't expecting is having to spar a fellow Eevee who was a male and a shiny.
She hasn’t interacted with one of her own in years since she found her mentor and came to Tabira. Sure she’s seen a few other Eevee walking around Tabira, yet never did she approach them or any her. She just went on her way with the intention of not talking or making eye contact with any of them.
Sonya having some difficulties with being around her own kind. Strange as sounds, it was true.
Let’s just say, she’s had some bad experiences and sometimes unwanted experiences, with those of her species and would like to forget those experiences so avoids interaction with any Eevees as best as she can.
Guess Marble didn’t get that memo.
Despite her reluctance and immediate suspicion of the shiny male Eevee who introduced himself as Nox, Sonya’s determination to improve her fighting skills and physical abilities made her agree to spar him. Every fiber of her being telling her not to due to past experiences, but the fighter (and as much as she hates to admit, the hunter in her too) wanted to test her abilities and to test the abilities of the shiny Eevee they just met.
After a bit of a close call with almost losing it due to her tense feelings of sparring with another Eevee and the fact the spar brought back memories and feelings she’d all but like to forget, in the end she lost.
Her reluctance and hesitation causing her to not be focused enough and lose the match.
She wasn’t too happy about losing. And not only that, but this Nox she sparred with made her think of things she thought she’d left behind. And not only that, things she’s not even sure of completely that confuses her.
She hates to be confused or uncertain, and hates to be reminded of her past. Sparring against the shiny male made her feel all those things and more.
Though it wasn’t what she was thinking of originally, Sonya frowns irritated at her friend as she is forced to remember she was beat.
“I’ll sleep in a little bit.” Sonya answers with irritation in her voice.
Yang not quite realizing the inner conflict her friend is going through just yet. Mistaking her irritation at having lost the fight and being tired from it and not because she was confused.
“I think you did great. Even if you did lose.” Yang continues trying to be supportive of her friend. “Mentor did say that every loss is a chance to improve.”
Sonya frowns deepens as Yang mentions their mentor who took them in and taught Sonya the move Heal Bell.
“Mentor would probably give me a long lecture about what I messed up on.” Sonya says glancing to Yang with one eye open. “One reason I’m glad she’s not here. I’d really fall asleep if she was here and started ranting on about ‘how I needed to be more focused’ or ‘next time don’t let your guard down.’” Sonya sarcastically tries to mimic a high pitch voice as she mentions their Mentor.
Yang giggling a bit, knowing Sonya would be right. “Still, this is a chance to learn. A-And well….” Yang pauses as she looks concern. “Y-You did handle fighting another Eevee fairly well. From your past stories I worried you’d go overboard by accident.”
“I almost did.” Sonya replies with slightly narrowed eyes. “He’s a lot more sturder than I am. My stamina isn’t even close to his. And even though I have power, if I don’t control the power then I’ll get tired easily and be overcome like I was with him. As loathed as I am to admit it, I did learn something from my spar with him.”
“Even if you lost?” Yang asks without thinking. Then flinches as Sonya glares with one eye at her. “S-Sorry….”
Sonya looks away as she thinks to herself.
Yang also starts to think, recalling the spar. While they had sparred, Yang did manage to catch the aura of them both as they fought. One thing she finds concerning was not only the way Sonya’s aura spiked when her hunter side starts to emerge, but the male Nox’s aura was even more unsettling.
His gave off a strange feeling of not just power, but a hint of something else that made Yang’s skin crawl. It reminded her of something from her past she felt before, and even she finds it unsettling.
Sonya sighing makes Yang look back to her. Sonya closing both eyes then says, “We’ll keep our distance from ummm….. Nox. I don’t trust him.”
Yang looks curious. “You don’t trust him because he’s an Eevee? Or is it something else?”
Sonya’s face scrunches up, a bit upset because she wants to admit it’s because he’s an Eevee and the feeling she gets from him makes her edgy. Yet, deep down she finds herself nervous around him and she can’t pinpoint why exactly.
She turns her head away in her arms and mumbles, “I just don’t alright. We’ll be careful around him.”
Yang looks confused to her friend at her unclear reasoning. Yet knowing her teammates stubbornness Yang knows she won’t get an answer if she voices her confusion.
Yang always trusts Sonya’s judgment so she decides to let it be and do as Sonya suggests. Even if apart of her does worry as to why her teammate is acting so different than usual.

Just a small update and filler for my team as I begin Chapter 2 for them. I'm going to be starting in my new job pretty soon, so I may not be as quick to do new tasks but I'll do my best. I love being apart of this group and meeting fun new people and their teams ^_^
A new friend and I will be staring up a pretty big collab here for Chapter 2. We got to really brainstorming ideas and I'm looking forward to trying them out for our teams! Glad to be working with ya ^_^
Also thank you to everyone who is watching and reading the things I put up for my team. I'm having a blast writing their story in the world of Tabira and despite the possibility of work keeping me from not being too active in the near future, I really want to continue contributing to this awesome group
