Oh no....
The only thought going through Sonya's head right now as she stares down an attack heading right at her. The Goodra witch Gilgamarsh looking with a smug smirk in her direction.
Sonya stares down the dragon breathe the witch sent right at her to which she is too tired to try to dodge. She wasn't worried at first since she’s learned after evolving she doesn't need to worry on dragon attacks hurting her.
Yet, she miscalculated on her decision. She let her guard down thinking he was weak enough for her to use her strongest attack on, only she forgot that this is a strong witch she's dealing with and one who uses poison.
She can sense the magic combined in the dragon breath has large hints of poison magic. And enough of it to which it can do serious damage to her.
Her feet can't move, her legs shaking barely able to hold her up. And even if she could try to dodge, even with her speed she'd still get hit.
She can hear the voice of Zack in the distance above her. Probably yelling at her to watch out or move while trying to fly to her to help. She thinks she also heard her name being called in the background by someone else, but all she can see is the magic infused attack coming right at her.
All she can do is stare at the attack head on with a painful glare.
Before the Battle
Sonya stands next to Yang, both gathering with the other teams to hear one last speech from the guild leaders before heading to their separate teams for the battle.
She and Yang both tense and uneasy, but determined to do their part.
It wasn't easy for Sonya and Yang to decide what team to go with. Sonya wanted to help in the fighting since she’d be one of the few with an advantage over the Goodra Witch. Plus her experience in dealing with witches would be vital in a situation like this.
Yet she left that life behind. No more fighting witches if she could help it. And the deciding factor was because of her teammate who will freeze up near any witch and can’t fight either way. Her teammates safety above most and was the deciding factor anyway.
Despite their final decision to remain with the Medical Team, she isn't sure she made the right decision. She has conflicting feelings on wanting to join the front lines to make sure their other friends are safe by fighting with them, yet standing next to her nervous teammate reminds her she made the decision to stay with the Medical Team for her.
She looks around, scouting the area at all the other different teams present.
She notices the different looks and postures from all the different teams. The now brought to light witches in the teams looking nervous and weary, spotting Peach as well as Riley with her teammate Chip looking unsure. While some having a look of determination to bring this witch to justice.
She feels bad for them. Knowing back then she wouldn't be anywhere near them or willing to cooperate if she was her old witch huntress self.
Now she knows better.
She just can't say the same for others. Both sides are justified in a way, magical and non magical. All she knows is there's just one witch they all have to stop and must work together to bring down.
Now her eyes land on those who's she's come to know and trust. She spots the taller form of Reef looking ready and set. The now young Lucario pirate’s red eyes narrowed with determination.
Moving from him, she spots Team Shadow Foxes nearby who look just as determined and set too. She knows she can rely on them to help keep an eye out for those hurt and direct them to the injured if needed.
She sees Team Phoenix Star next, but only Lunette is present. This doesn’t surprise Sonya one bit. No way would the female Umbreon allow little Marco anywhere near this fight.
Then finally her eyes catch the two shiny forms of Nox and Elva.
Nox himself was extremely nervous, his gaze the whole time down casted because he was fully exposed as a witch. He felt the unsure glances of other teams on him as he gulped quietly, lost in thoughts while he had decided to partake in the Decoy team.
Elva, who was next to him, sighed through her nostrils as she looked towards him whispering, "Nox, just stay calm. You just have to focus on your job and keep the others safe."
With a slight fidget and a sigh did he respond to her, "Easier said then done Elva..."
Sonya slightly worries for the male Umbreon. She knows just by his posture he’s unsure because of others finding out he’s also one of the witches in the Guilds. Things are already tense enough and she can tell it’s getting to him.
She sighs softly, then lastly glances to her teammate Yang. The shiny Mienfoo has her paws up to her chest with a nervous look. But Sonya can tell she's trying her hardest to be brave.
She's proud of how far her shy teammate has come, a small smile coming to her face at her progress since they came to Tabira. Yang wearing the special greaves she received when they took on the temple of that electric spirit. Sonya can tell her partner is relieved and thankful to have received them since they’ll come in handy for this battle.
They’ll not only protect her lower legs better than flimsy wrappings, but also keep her focused on the task at hand. Though Sonya may not be too happy with sticking to the back with the medical team, she won’t put Yang in any danger.
They’ll do what they’re assigned to do and Sonya will keep her safe no matter what.
"So anyway!"
Sonya's thrust out of her thoughts as Vander’s bellowing voice resonates and she looks forward to him and the other Guild leaders.
"Separate to your teams and ready yourselves. The attack begins soon. And remember! We have one common enemy right now. Work together and keep each other safe!"
Everyone begins to move to their section.
Sonya having a firm frown on her face in concern but also determination.
Yang and Sonya walk to the medical team side. Yang trying her best to remain strong but so many negative or uneasy auras around her make it hard. Even Sonya's aura is tense and angry. She knows her teammate, being the fighter she is, wanted to be apart of the other teams tackling the witch head on.
She knows she's one of the reasons why her Sylveon friend kept to the medical team instead. But she also knows this isn't an easy decision for her. Yet it reassures her that Sonya cares for her feelings, and it also helps Yang to somewhat support Sonya in her own way.
They look around those in the medical teams once they’ve arrived at the meeting spot. Once they find a spot to sit and wait, Yang glances briefly over to the other teams real fast.
Her eyes widen seeing the familiar aura of her close friend Nox near the Decoy team. Worries for her other friend in being near the fight making it’s way to her causing her to put her paws to her chest.
"Yang?"
She jumps at the call of her name and turns seeing Riley walk over to her. The new friend she made recently who asked a request from her and ended up them becoming somewhat friends.
She relaxes and tries to smile seeing the Riolu come to her and Sonya. "H-Hello Ms. Riley."
Riley smiles to her. "I told you to call me Riley, Yang."
"O-Oh right. F-Force of habit. S-Sorry."
"Hey." Sonya says bluntly and stiff.
Riley merely nodded to the Sylveon, not offended by her usual greeting ways. Plus she can’t blame her on why.
"Lets try to work together to keep everyone healthy and ready for battle." Riley says, almost as nervous as Yang but having a firm resolution.
Yang nods in agreement, glancing to Sonya who is glaring in the direction the witch is at.
"We'll do out part. No matter what it takes." Sonya says with firm resolution. "We'll stop this monster."
Yang sighs nervously but glares softly alongside Sonya nodding in agreement.
---
“Stay safe Nox, it would be a shame to loose the leader of Team Exulibus on this day." The shiny Salazzle pointed out as she headed over to the Attack team, ready to do what she had to do in order to stop the giant Witch.
He nodded softly and turned to walk, his silver eyes looking around before they stopped to see the medical team forming.
Upon spotting Yang and Sonya there did a slight frown appear on his face as he thought, *It's good that they aren't going to the other teams, but it would have been better if they stayed away from the fight...*
"Hey Noxie!!!" His name being called interrupts his thoughts while he passed by a strange object made to combat Gilgamarsh, causing him to look backwards to spot a shiny Chespin next to him.
Nox simply passed by, releasing a short noise of displeasure with a small nod and closing his eyes continuing forward. Once far enough he reopened his eyes that are shining with focus. *This is war. There’s no room for mistakes. I've to do my best to distract that monstrous Goodra witch so others can stop him in his tracks.* A shaky sigh escapes him as he tried to concentrate for the task, yet the enormous presence of Gilgamarsh’s magic energy along with the magic energy of other Pokémon within the guilds making it difficult.

The poor girls clearly aren't having the best time of it, between the duties they took on as opposed to what they wanted, and the utter strength of Gilgamarsh.
