ToT Chap2 - Opening Up Pt1

It’s halfway in to the morning when Sonya finally sees the medical building coming in to view. Getting slightly sidetracked in the beginning with helping Addy out that she slightly rushes to it. Eager to find her teammate.

As she does, one thing she does notice with narrowed eyes is the few Pokemon who appear to be sick. Some having a very basic cough, while others are worse.
I wonder how this epidemic started. It looks pretty bad. Hopefully Yang and me don't catch it. she thinks with a concerned frown.

She walks up to the medical building, a line of sick Pokemon coming from the door.

Cris, a glaceon who was apart of the Scholars guild, was busy writing the symptoms for another patient down when Sonya heads inside and walks to her.

Sonya looks curious seeing she is a glaceon. Not meeting a lot of this evolution of her species and is thankfully not tense around her. Only because she knows Cris is of the guilds of Tabira and would in no way be from her clan.

Sonya sits down by the reception desk Cris is on and waits somewhat patiently until she finishes.

Cris glancing to her and says, "I'll be with you in a moment to take your symptoms."

"No it's ok. I'm not sick. I'm of Team Pathfinders."

Cris perks up looking to Sonya then smiles. "Oh you are apart of the new teams who are here to help us. Good."

She nods to the patient she was helping who goes to their seat. Then hops down to where Sonya is.

"I'm glad we have more volunteers to help. We've been swamped with sick patients, any little help will be appreciated." Cris looks to her ear and smiles brightly. "And I take it that earring isn't just a fashion accessory."

Sonya's ear twitches making the bell ring softly. "I'm not one for following fashion trends ma'am." Sonya responds with a smirk, her voice having a hint of a joking tone.

Cris laughs then smiles. "Just call me Cris."

"I'm Sonya."

"Well then Sonya. Please go in to the rooms filled with sick Pokemon. Those who can use moves like yours we put in small rooms with about five or six Pokemon with the same symptoms. This way your move can work effectively. Just use your move as long as you’re able. But please do not push yourself. We still don't know what this epidemic is and we are doing our best to treat those sick and ensure no one else catches it. Including you and any other guild teams. If you feel strange or different, inform me or the other medics immediately." Cris informs Sonya who listens intently.

Sonya nods in understanding. Though catches Cris before she walks off. "Ma'am. Or Cris. If I may ask if you’ve seen my teammate I’d like to see her first before I get started. She's a shiny Mienfoo with her bangs pinned back."

Cris looks confused then looks down thinking while tapping her chin. "A shiny Mienfoo? Interesting. I've seen a few shiny Pokemon come in to help but not a Mienfoo."

Sonya looks surprised at this then concerned. "Would anyone else know?"

"Most teams have come to me to check in to help. And Miss Fellin has been busy making our medicines she hasn't had time to talk to the teams."

Sonya looks more concerned now, looking to the floor with narrowed eyes.
"Yang." She says worried

Yet, right when she is about to consider going to find her teammate. The rough and loud coughing coming from a room with sick Pokemon catches her attention.

She looks conflicted as Cris looks to the room worried. Then back to Sonya. "If you’re concerned for your teammate you can go search for her. We have plenty of helpers here."

Sonya takes a deep breath through her nose while closing her eyes. She then opens them determined. "No it's fine. My teammate will be here later. I'm here to help so I will."

She walks to the room after that before Cris can tell her its fine to go look. Sonya really worried for where Yang could be as she tries not to think of bad things as she heads in to her first room to help.

She stands in the center of the room, beds around with those sick. She stands on her back hind legs and sighs softly. Trying to concentrate as she closes her eyes.

Focus. The effective way I use the bell, the quicker I can look for Yang.

She raises her left ear slowly, the brings it down sharply to let it ring out. The sound ringing out louder than it usually does as a wave of power pulses out from her bell and around the room. The sound echoing out as she continues this action a few more times as the calming sound soothes those who are in a restless sleep and slowly heals their ailments.

As time goes by, Yang starts to shift as the presence of Nox's aura missing wakes her slowly from her sleep. Not realizing yet that Nox had already left ahead of her to the medical building.

Soon she opens her eyes slowly, blinking sleepily for a few seconds. When she’s more awake, she yawns out softly and moves to sit up. Rubbing her eyes softly of the excess sleep in them.

She suddenly gasps softly and looks to the side as realization of Nox’s aura being gone again wakes her up completely. She sees he’s once more absent from his bed and the events of last night come back to her.

She looks concerned for a second, then finally notices theres a note.

Standing up quickly, she goes and takes the note in her paws, looking it over quickly.

Realization hits her thanks to the note, and she glances outside to the window seeing the position the sun is at.

She starts to sweat and look panicked dropping the note. “I-It’s that time already?!” She exclaims and quickly runs out.

Sonya’s going to kill me for being late!

Sonya sighs softly when she finishes her second round of using Heal Bell on another set of sick Pokemon. The bells soothing sound echoing around the room in pulses then die down softly.

The feeling of content and healing surrounding the whole room as the coughing fits and groans in pain finally stop and a peaceful quietness fills the room.

Sonya smiling softly in satisfaction at having helped another group. Glad to be a help to others besides just fighting or winning something.

She enjoys a good spar or fight, or even putting those who take advantage of others in their place.

Yet she also enjoys the more easy going days like this where she just uses another way to help others than beating someone to a pulp.

Though she still worries for where her teammate could be. Her ears lowering a bit in concern making her bell ring softly.

She glanced to it at the corner of her eye and gets a nostalgic look on her face. Even though she's worried for Yang, she still has to remember her training in effectively using Heal Bell to its fullest.

Remember runt, the Bell is apart of you now. It's alive and breathes just like you do. It acts on your emotions so when your calm and focus on healing others over yourself, basically be selfless, the Bells full ability will be utilized. Yet also remember to not overdo it. Like you, the bell does have a limit so you must allow it to rest. Don't laugh! I'm being serious you brat!

Sonya can't help but smile with a snicker as the words of her Mentor go through her head.

She soon walks out of the room and heads to the reception desk where Cris is at again.

"I'm done with my rooms. Are there any others that need help before I go to find my teammate?" Sonya says up to Cris.

She looks to Sonya surprised then smiles. "Done already huh. Hold on let me double check." She says then looks to her paperwork.

Sonya sits waiting and decides to look around. Noticing that there weren't a specific species the epidemic was affecting. Different Mosswood residents present and all seeming to have the same symptoms.

Suddenly as she scans the area, her eyes immediately stop as they land on a very familiar shiny male Eevee who's helping to distribute the medicine.

She stares at him with no emotion for a second while blinking a few times.

Then in a flash she looks shocked and confused seeing that it is in fact Nox across the room right now.

She almost yelled out on what he's doing here in her shock but managed to quickly stop her self by coughing to the side.

Cris looks to her immediately concern when she does. "Are you alright? Should I have you checked as well?"

Sonya tries not to look embarrassed as she shakes her head. "No no I'm fine. I swear. Just a tickle in my throat." She says and lightly glares in Nox's direction at the corner of her eye.

Why him!? Why couldn’t I have ran in to Yang instead!

Sonya watchs curious as she witnesses Nox assist a young togepi. She looks skeptic for a minute wondering what he'll do.

Her eyes widen a bit in surprise as she watches Nox actually seem to be normal for once. Usually when they interact they act awkward or suspicious of each other. Or is that just her?

She gives a small grumble at the thought. Continuing to watch as Nox gives the young one a plush. Recognition on her face as she recalls Nox having that when they last ran in to each other.

Her look at Nox relaxes a bit as she heard and watched his interaction. A part of her surprised at seeing this side of him. Then again, as much as she hates to admit it, she hasn't really given him a chance to act this around her.

Her own suspicions and dislike for others her kid due to her past making her act like she does. She looks down upset.

Not proud of this habit she has yet she can't help it. When you've been disappointed or looked down on by the ones who claimed to care and love you, it's only natural to keep a distance from others so not to feel that pain again. Right?

Sonya makes an unsure face as she looks back to Nox and sees him smiling softly to the togepi.

Her only exemption being Yang, and perhaps their Mentor, who proved they could be there for Sonya and not disappoint her. Yet when she looks at Nox and how content he looks, a part of her makes her realize she hasn't been very fair to him. And perhaps others as well.

Cris looked a moment towards the position as soon as she heard the cheerful laughter of the Togepi to see what's going on. She soon smiled from that before mumbling, "I'm glad to hear the child laugh again. He would be a pretty good father too."

Her ears raise a bit when she hears Cris say what she did about Nox. Keeping a straight face yet still watching him even as she spoke.

Yeah. He does look like he would. His smile is comforting and makes him look nice for once. she thinks.

Suddenly realization shocks right through her at her thoughts making her choke on her spit. She coughs a few times making Cris look at her worried.

"That's it. We're going to have you checked in." She says and gets ready to write her name down.

Sonya slightly red in the face as she looks frantic to Cris. "No no no! I'm fine." Her voice is a bit hoarse from coughing but not too bad. Yet it still doesn't help her convince Cris who looks to her skeptically. "I swear! I uh just..."

Sonya looks down embarrassed. For once at a loss of what to say.

Suddenly the doors open and frantic footsteps rush inside. They seem to stumble for a second with a small yelp but continue on.

Sonya's ears perk up at the yelp as she recognizing it immediately. Followed by the nervous high pitch voice saying excuse me a few times that goes to the other side of the reception desk where Nox is at.

Sonya looks over and to her relief but also confusion, sees Yang rush to where Nox is and stops before him.

"Hey Yang, slept well?" He asks turning to look at her.

Yang slightly out of breath, but then looks to Nox upset. "I-I'm so sorry! I-I slept in so late! U-Usually I can wake up early no problem. T-Thank you though for leaving a note for me. S-Sorry to make you come alone." Yang starts feeling bad for sleeping in while Nox came to work. She'd be the same way if Sonya had done the same thing.

Sonya looks confused as she remains where she is and just watches from her position.

"Nah it's okay, you looked like you needed the sleep after the long day that you had." Nox or Yang didn't know yet that they were being watched by Sonya who quietly listens in.

Cris looks skeptical towards Sonya, before looking over to Nox to notice the female Mienfoo now "Is that your Team Partner Sonya?"

Sonya doesn't answer Cris as she just continues to watch Nox and Yang. Her ears raised high as she listens to what they say.

"Besides that, I think that if your Team Partner Sonya saw me interact with you I would be in a lot of trouble right now."

Yang smiles nervous while shaking her head. "S-She wouldn't mind if I explained what happened. I-I'm sure of it. S-Sonya always looks out for me remember."

Sonya's eyes widen a bit at hearing this.

They were talking about me? Wait, they talked? she thinks surprised Yang is speaking to someone almost normally besides her.

Yang smiles fondly as she thinks of her hot headed treammate. "W-When I tell her you watched out for me until she got here I'm sure she won't be upset at you. M-More than likely she'd be upset at me for not being here before she arrived. S-She would of been worried sick."

Sonya looks down with a frown. Her ears lowering as her bell rings.

Ting

Yang gasps with a surprised look. A feeling going through her as she thought she heard a familiar sound.

"D-Did you hear that?" Yang asks Nox.

Nox looked a bit confused as his ears catch the tinging sound of a bell. "Umm I think so?"

Sonya keeps her head down but says to Cris. "I'm going for a break. I'll be back to help soon." She turns and walks away without waiting for an answer. Her bell ringing once more as she turns.

Ting

Yang gasps louder and frantically looks around as she hears it again. She walks around a bit but then stops short.

Barely catching what looks like the tip of an Eevee's tail that looks similar to her teammate.

"Sonya...?" Yang says curious. Then looking to Nox unsure she says quickly "E-Excuse me Nox" before running forward quickly.

Cris whitnessed the scene too before looking over to the grey furred Eevee rather worried.
"I hope they won't get into a fight with each other." which he only nodded weakly too as he approached the Glaceon now "Y-yeah... I don't wanna be the reason a friendship breaks..." He says feeling bad.

Yang looks around then to a door that just shut. She runs to it and looks out. In the distance she sees the form of Sonya for sure walking to the forest.

"S-Sonya? It is you. Were you already here?" Yang says softly then looks concern seeing her go off on her own. Worry for why makes Yang immediately sprint after her teammate.
