Description

Crack!

A training log broken in two falls to the ground before Sonya. She herself landing on all fours with narrowed eyes fixed sternly on the now broken log. Her tail still shining out in a metallic glow before going back to normal after a short while. She used the most powerful move she knows Iron Tail while Marble watched in the background. Her and Yang deciding to tackle the Tracker's task of doing some training with the Tracker's trainer Marble.
Yang was reluctant to come be apart of this task since she doesn't like fighting. Yet as she watches from the sidelines as Sonya continues to use Iron Tail on a few more training logs, she remembers she's here to support her friend. A small smile coming to her face, knowing that her Eevee friend has been wanting to grow stronger and when they heard about this task she remembers just how eager and excited Sonya looked. Not much getting Sonya's attention yet this made her even smile for a minute, something Yang knows doesn't always happen unless Sonya is really interested in something.

"Ok that's enough."

Marble speaking makes Yang jump, coming out of her thoughts as Marble walks forward to Sonya. Sonya lightly breathing hard as she turns to look up to Marble.

"You have strength, I can see that. Yet you still need to temper your patience." Marble says to the Eevee, crossing her arms over her chest.

Sonya's eyes narrow a bit in confustion. "Patience?"

"Yes." Marble nods with a serious face. "Your attack's are strong and quite accurate. Plus you have impressive speed. Yet your using that speed to act too quickly because your eager to finish as fast as you can. You use your speed and strength with the idea to finish off your enemy with one shot. Am I right?"

Sonya looks down with a frown. Marble giving her a knowing look with a sigh. "It is one kind of tactic to use, yet it can also be your downfall. Not having the patience to think before acting or going so fast you don't see what's around you will cause you or your teammate to get hurt. You must learn to be patient and read your opponent. Are they dangerous enough that you will be overpowered or are they too weak that you'll end up badly hurt them unintentionally. These are vital things to remember in any fight and by learning to be patient will this better help mold your fighting style. Got it."

Sonya sighs through her nose, and looks back up to Marble and nods. "Yes. Thank you for your advice."

Marble looks satisfied and turns to walk away. Yang looking concerned at the slight reprimanding her teammate got. Wanting to be sure Sonya isn't too upset or disappointed since she knows how eager Sonya is to get stronger. Yet before she can make her way to said teammate, Yang flinches seeing Marble walking towards her now.

Yang hangs her head down as Marble stands before her now. Same stance she had when she was talking to Sonya. Yang gulps nervously, then looks up slowly to meet the stern eyes of the Tracker's Trainer.

"You planning on staying on the sidelines the whole time?" Marble says to Yang.

Yang tries not to flinch at the tone Marble is using on her. Yang knows she is questioning why she isn't training with her teammate. Yang rubs her wrapped legs nervously together while trying not to stutter a reply.

"I-I um..... I don't like to..... fight..." Yang manages to speak out in a soft voice.

Marble's eyebrows raise in confusion. "Don't fight? Well that's a weird thing to hear coming from a fighting type."

Yang can't hide the flinch that comes to her this time at the obviousness of what she said. "I-It's hard to explain....."

"Whether it's hard or easy, it doesn't matter does it?" Marble's voice grows a bit as her eyes narrow right on Yang. "Your dwelling on things that don't matter at the present. What you need to explain is how are you going to help your teammate when she needs you in the future."

This gets Yang's attention. Her eyes widen in surprise then confusion as she looks up to Marble. "Huh?"

"You heard me. Right now your teammate is trying to get stronger. Whether it's for herself or for protecting her friends, that's her reason. She's doing what she can to get stronger, yet here you are on the sidelines offering your 'support.' Is staying here watching her get stronger going to help you become any stronger yourself?"

"B-But I....."

"Don't make excuses!" Marble's voice raises a bit, making Yang flinch again and hang her head down. Marble sighs calming down a bit. "You might have your reasons for not wanting to fight. What they are is your business. I'm just saying to think of your teammate. There's a time to fight, and to run away. Just consider the fact that if someday your teammate needs you, will you be ready to help her? Remember your apart of a team now. One person doing all the work isn't a team."

Marble uncrosses her arms and walks away. Yang still having her head down staring at the ground. Marble's words going through her head and the truth behind them. If she continues to remain this way and someday Sonya does need her, can she really fight? Yang clenches her paws together tightly, the fact at the moment her answer to that question would be no she can't, making her hate herself.

Eh, thought I'd try a bit of story telling for the moment with the picture. The pic isn't too great since I'm still learning how to draw humanized pokemon so sorry Marble I did my best! XD I am proud of how I got to draw Sonya doing her attack. This might be one of the pics I'll try to digitally color once my Mac is fixed in the future.

Any critiques on my writing or comments will be greatly appreciated!

Finally catching up on Team Pathfinder's stories. This was a nice little read. Now that I know Yang's backstory (which I just noticed was already on the drawn app, don't know how I missed that), I feel bad for her. She wants to help, but that curse makes things so hard. Hopefully she can get rid of it eventually. The art was pretty good too :)
