Physical Information


Appearance: A normal Banette that has a curly, long tail with a portion of it a darker golden yellow at the base then lighter from the middle to the end. From her hands to her upper arms and from her thighs down to her feet is a darker coloring with the ends wavy. Making her look like she's wearing stockings and long gloves.
Her back hair looks like a long braid and the ends of her ears are curled at the tip. Her left eye is green but her right eye is always covered with wrappings so no one knows if it's the same color or different colored. Her zipper on her mouth is unzipped and the button has some torn clothe at the end.

Accessory: A shiny pumpkaboo witches hat. The ends are flared out and front end is long enough to hide most of her right face. She also carries a long wooden looking staff with her Mega Stone embedded at the top.

Type: Dream and Sleep Magic

Description: Just as the name implies, she utilizes sleeping magic to help put others to sleep. Or to force them asleep if necessary. If she concentrates enough she can even force someone to go in to a deep coma or lose their consciousness but still allow their body to move.
She then uses Dream magic to either enter other's dreams or project them for others to see. She can travel through, watch, eat, and slightly influence dreams she enters. She can only enter dreams of those close by or whom she's marked with a symbol she created. Though if there is a Dream Catcher she can't enter the dreams of those sleeping next to it.


Magical Abilities/Spells

Sleeping/Waking Spell
Basic or advanced spell that can put someone in to a small nap or if concentrated with enough magic, a deep coma. She can also wake up a sleeping host that's been afflicted with a similar sleeping spell or natural hypnosis.
Sleep Walking
Equivalent to hypnotizing someone. Can force a sleeping host to walk or act on her suggestion or order. They can break out of it if the host is startled awake or wakes up on their own, or if she wakes them up herself.
Dream Projection
With the use of a reflective surface she can use her powers to portray the dream of a dreamer so others can see in the waking realm.
Dream Walking
Enters in to the dream of a sleeping being and can observe but not alter it. Cannot Dream Walk when a Dream Catcher is nearby.
Dream Alteration
She can try to change the dream slightly by giving a suggestion while Dream Walking. Has a 50/50 chance of altering the dream.
Dream Bonding
Can connect the dreams of those she's close to or who trusts her together to have or share the same dream. She can also give small predictions based on Bonding dreams of future possibilities. But they're not very accurate, just possibilities.
Dream Eating
Based on her move Dream Eater, basically just as it implies she eats the dreams of the dreamer when she's Dream Walking. Whether its bad or good, once she eats them the dreamer tends to forget that dream and using her powers doesn't harm the dreamer when she does. Though remnants of the dream can linger and build up again if the dreamer dreams hard enough.





Personal Information

Characteristic: Mischievous
 
Overview: Mentor is a very mysterious and fickle being. She's always seen either smiling, kidding around, teasing, or even making others uncomfortable because she seems to enjoy it. She seems to be the type to hide her concerns or worries by smiling or avoiding the topic, but with the way she acts it's hard to tell if she's kidding or serious at all.
No one knows very much about her and when asked she'll just avoid the question or give a less than straight answer reply. Besides talking about her past life or specific things on her powers, she's very open and honest. She always speaks her mind(most of the time) and isn't afraid to embrace her title as a witch. She also likes her privacy and doesn't like others to pry in to her life, but is always curious to learn about others and pry into their lives.
 
In Conversation: She has a faint english accent but it's sometimes hard to hear. When she's teasing or calling someone a fond nickname, such as when she calls Sonya 'runt,' it can be heard. She has a sing song way of talking that's very carefree and isn't afraid to get up close and personal, even if it makes the other uncomfortable.
 
At a Glance: A whimsical ghost witch who can be annoying and mysterious. Don't trust her.
Closer Bond: An old hag witch who loves to tease those she's fond of and secretly does care, just doesn't like to broadcast it. Though she still holds secrets she doesn't want to tell.

Likes: Shinies(Like Yang), cute things, teasing Sonya and making her angry, eating nightmares, being nosy, the Moon and stars, Dream Walking
Dislikes: Other witches, bright places, intense light, when someone tries to touch her staff
Fears: Letting down her old friend and promise she made to them
Goals: Appears to be keeping Sonya and Yang safe until they don't need her. Really, to keep the promise she made and find her killer



Combat Information


Battle Style: Prefers to fight long range than close range. She has lingering psychic powers that enhances her witch powers and her regular moves. She of course isn't a physical fighter and prefers to remain out of reach or dodge.
Prowess: It's hard to say, she's so carefree some would think she's not capable of fighting at all and wants to avoid it. Yet when she's serious, her threats sends the message she can fight and if she does she will not hold back.
Strengths: She used to have psychic abilities when she was alive and they continued on that can enhance her witch powers slightly. Not having a physical body or need for sleep also makes her quite vigilant and observant in exploiting or finding weaknesses.
Weaknesses: She can't eat too many nightmares without slowly becoming 'sick.' Since she's a ghost she can't physically get sick, but after a while her soul becomes sick from eating the negativity in nightmares and she'll become weak. She'll also lose her sense of reality the more often she Dream Walks and risks being lost in the dream.

Move Set

· Dream Eater:
Can eat the dreams of a sleeping host and gain energy from them. Though also damages the dreamer in return for eating their dream. Only when she uses her powers does it not do damage to the dreamer.
· Phantom Force:
Mentor can create dark portals that she disappears or drags her opponent in to. She can either reappear anywhere near her opponent and unleash her energy on them. Or she drags them in to the portals and can make them reappear anywhere she wants. She can also use her magic in this move and as long as she recalls the place, she can create a portal and appear at the place or transport others. Not without some side effects of the person she transported becoming dizzy or a little motion sick.
· Psychic:
Can use this move to levitate others or objects, including objects much heavier than her. She can also use this move to heighten her senses, including when she enters dreams. It helps her keep track of where her physical body is at and what is actually reality and what's the dream. Over using this though exhausts her mentally.
· Hidden Power(Fairy):
Thanks to some training, she has learned to harness her hidden power that enables her to utilize fairy power. She doesn't use this often, but when she does she usually uses it to make wings that help her fly in the air faster to dodge or to create claws that lets her attack close range. She only uses this when she's forced to fight close ranged.



Stat Breakdown


Stamina (7/10): Mentor has very good stamina compared to her Sylveon student. Since the fact she doesn't need to sleep, or doesn't sleep, has enabled her to build up her endurance. Though she needs to eat dreams in order to keep it up, especially since being a ghost type she doesn't need to eat food anymore.

Strength (4/10): Physical wise, she's not very strong. Being a ghost now she has no need to rely on physical strength anymore. Especially since physical attacks don't hurt her now that she's a ghost.

Agility (6/10): Since she's a ghost she's constantly floating and levitating now and now that she's been a ghost for so long she's learned to embrace the feel of being flightless. She's quite fast levitating in the air though tends to rely on transporting herself instantly through her portals as well.

Intelligence (9/10): She may be a carefree, mischievous, and mysterious witch, but she's actually a lot clever and smarter than she lets on. She's had years of experience learning, researching, and lots of time since she doesn't sleep. She also has memories of when she was alive too so she has even more experience and knowledge as a witch both alive and now dead. She may act carefree and silly, but don't underestimate her.

Charisma (5/10): Mentor loves to be social and talk to others, just hard for her to take the hint others may not like her company in return. Even when others find out she's a witch, she's smart enough to know when to keep her distance and when to tease and have fun. It mostly depends on the being, since they could like her quirky attitude and curiosity to learn more about them. Or find her extremely annoying by her small pranks or persistence, especially in prying in to other peoples lives.

Magical Stamina (9/10): Mentor used to be a witch when she was alive and continued to be one even in death. So she's had years of experience building her endurance and practicing her limits. She's only recently gained a better endurance as a ghost now having no need to sleep and years of practicing under teachers that taught her dream and sleep magic. The only drawback is the longer she uses her powers or remains in the dream, the more she can lose contact with her physical body in reality and be lost in the dream.

Magical Strength (7/10): Most of her power is in dreams, but her past power when she was alive still lingers in her. Plus with the added years of training she gained as a ghost with new teachers has enabled her to find new strength and abilities. Though the fact she's a ghost and relies more of her magic tends to make her forget that her physical body can still be damaged by other's magic and attacks.

Magical Skill (8/10): Mentor has memories of when she was alive so her knowledge on past magical powers and witches is still fresh along with present. She doesn't know everything but she's good at studying and searching for answers, including all the time in the world to look when it gains her interest.



History


Mentor wasn't always as she was, but she was a witch even when she was alive.

You can see it in her features as she used to be a Meowstic witch that used her psychic abilities to enhance her voice. She was taught by a Primarina siren on how to use her magic through her words and voice. Singing or using backwards incantations with her magical energy to perform spells. She then learned how to enhance it with her strong psychic powers.
Though believe it or not, she didn't use her powers for selfish purposes at first. Her first teacher, the Primarina siren that was also a sorceress, taught her that by using their voice and magical powers they can help others. Learning that they can choose how to use their powers, be it mystics, witches, etc. and that it doesn't have to be in a selfish or evil way.
Mentor tried using her singing to heal others, provide endurance and stamina, or break them out of illusions or comas. Just as her teacher was doing.
She was taught alongside other mentors and students on how to use their powers. It was a kind of secluded school where different races, genders, and ages were taught how to use their magical powers and abilities for helping others. She wasn't very enthusiastic about it but gradually warmed up to the idea and even made friends.

For a time, she was content in this life and dared to hope she'd amount to more than just being a witch that everyone fears.
Some circumstances she doesn't like to talk about, lead her to stray away from the positive teachings she was taught and go more to the evil witch stereotype. Due to this circumstance, she disregarded what she was taught and choose to embrace the way witches are always viewed as. Which prompted her to become overconfident in her abilities and lead to her being killed by another witch.
Her spite and resentment for her being killed after everything she did followed her to death where she became a Shuppet.

She doesn't remember how long, but for a long while she ventured as a spiteful ghost witch. Her powers still remained even in death and she used it to try to find her killer, but also vent out all her anger and resentful for what happened to her. She took it out on anyone who crossed her. Gaining a reputation that lead to her being found by her two new teachers that changed her life. Or, afterlife.

She was found by a group of nomads that followed the teachings of Sleep and Dream magic from two mythical legends. Their leaders were a Hypno and Musharna that utilized the teachings of these legends together. They mostly kept to themselves, only offering their help if it required but never offering first or getting involved.
They came across a nearly broken and lost Mentor who didn't know what to do but act on her anger and resentment. She was on the border of becoming just a lost, spiteful spirit before she was found by these nomads and taught their ways.

She didn't trust them at first and thought there was nothing they could do for her, yet as she traveled and stayed with them, she started to gain a clearer understanding. The Hypno and Musharna did not want her to act on her want for revenge, but they saw how lost she was and offered her a chance to learn and see if she can find a new path.
Interested in gaining new power and figuring out what they meant, Mentor reluctantly agreed and became their student in learning Sleep and Dream magic.

It took a few more years, and finally when she evolved she changed slightly. Gaining a new perspective on life and it's meaning, but never once forgetting her want for revenge.

Though her teachers were saddened she hadn't forgotten her want for revenge, they did not force their opinions on her and allowed her to find her own way. Giving her the wooden staff and Mega Stone as her graduating and parting gift, they allowed her to go on her way with a slightly new perspective and a new name.

Mentor was given her name from them and was her way of at first forgetting her weak self that was killed by another witch and instead as her own teacher that was strong.

After a few more years of traveling alone and wandering, Mentor soon came across her two students. Different circumstances but she has her own personal reasons for why she took them in as her students. They helped her realize why exactly her teachers gave her the name 'Mentor' and took them in as her students. She still hasn't forgotten her want for revenge, but she has gained a new promise to keep and a side path with Sonya and Yang.
 



Relationships


Sonya and Yang - Team Pathfinders

Her two and only students. She has different reasons for why she took them in and decided to be their teacher. For Sonya she said it was to help teach her more on a different perspective than what she was taught as a witch hunter and to help her control her corruption. For Yang she said it was on a whim to break her out of the camp she was imprisoned at and to help her regain the light she lost. At least that's what she tells everyone. For sure though she's quite fond of her students and won't hesitate to keep them safe.

  • Can speak spells or sentences backwards like it's nothing(rarely does this in public)
  • Has never told anyone her real name
  • Chooses to mostly eat nightmares for personal reasons despite the fact they can gradually make her sick
  • Created a special marking that can link her to the dreams of those she puts it on. Sonya and Yang bare this mark but it can't be seen normally. Only by other dream witches and it can be removed if needed.

Bored at work and Trying to get in the mood to work on Ch5(keyword trying ^^;) after such a long hold out. So I decided to get more distracted by doing this instead XP

Since the witch will be coming officially in their story soon, might as well give some backstory to her

Wow, this is a really neat story for her! It's amazing to see how much work people put into the characters that aren't directly a part of the team.
