The Cabin Crew and their Daemons

So I read these amazing fics by OxfordTweed, which was essentially Cabin Pressure but with dæmons, spiritual animal companions from the His Dark Materials trilogy. [link] and [link]

I just was suddenly transported back into the time when I absolutely adored those books. I was much younger but wholly appreciated the sophistication of the mythology and symbology and gosh darn it I wanted my own dæmon okay

I've really got to reread those books.

Descriptions:
<sub>- Carolyn’s got a black jaguar named Lakshmana. Like Carolyn, he don’t take no shit. (He also likes to sit on her lap by the fire.)

- Douglas has a coyote named Ameretat. She’s just like Douglas, but with more biting.

- Arthur has an Albatross named Miyu. First off, that is an incredibly adorable name for a dæmon. Second, HOLY SHIT ALBATROSSES ARE HUGE HOW DO YOU TWO NOT BREAK ANYTHING YOU COME CLOSE TO. Thirdly, I would’ve made her an otter, but that’s just personal preference.

- And Martin… has the flightless bird. Named Glykeria. I think it’s perfect and I’ve kinda come to love her and the two of them together and the way Martin always has to carry her around and as;dfjsdf *hugs*</sub>
