.....Like Red Satin

Please take a look at the full view, the details are all in it and the thumbnail is just to small to really see it as how I intended

Lately I have been studying the work of Michael Brown, whose site "Macro Art In Nature" is not just inspiring, it is amazing. IMO, he is one of the very best photogs around, His work is just so utterly surreal and abstract. So it with this in my mind, and how he shoots, when I ventured to City Floral the other day with my Mom....I figured I would try some different kinda compositions. I don't have the setup by a long shot that he does, but never hurts to try. I have always loved shooting at nurseries, the lighting conditions are often ideal, and it's always nice to have people come up to you asking about your work. Usually the people that work there are more than obliged to photographers. Now there is a tip on a rainy day, hit one up!

Anyways, I liked how this one came out and it's been awhile since I did any macro work. Let alone posted one here. I rarely ever do square compositions and I don't know why...I always have liked them. Anyways.....

I found one of these on a walk last winter and got a shot of it, but couldn't figure out what it was called, do you know the name of the flower?

People always wonder if extraterrestrial life really does exist and how it would look but would we even notice an alien if it's standing in front of us? I mean there are so many beautiful and "weird"-looking plants and animal on this planet, it's just amazing.

Very nice and abstract shot, I'd believe it if you told me that this was taken on Mars, even though it's just some flower's pistil. :)

I have never used Diopters, I have so far only used Kenko Extension tubes. Do you recommend using Diopters?

Ya I do, I love mine, they work really well! Just make sure you get a good brand name set, like Hoya, Kenko, etc

Thank you for the Brand recommendation :w00t:
I'm familiar with Hoya. I have a 2x Neutral Density filter I love using for water fall images. Didn't know Kenko made Diopter filters! Will check that out:D

What's the name of that flower? I took one very similar photo in Alanya, Turkey last year, and thought of calling it 'YILDIZ' which is Turkish for a 'star' coz it reminds me of a star (that central part of the flower). I never posted it, coz I almost forgot about it, till now.
I love this photo, btw :D
