Bull Elk in Velvet captured along Trailridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park lay on the Alpine soaking in the sun amongst the wildflowers. This is one of the only times of the year which you see the Bull's together, as they go about their business together. When I saw these 2 kicking back, I just started laughing, as if to say "Hey who has the Coppertone and Nestea!" lol What a pair, the one on the left with his head raised slightly, as if showing arrogance, while the one on the right seemingly looking at me and smiling.
You all would not believe where they were lounging at....about 13,000 feet high, out on the Alpine Tundra, what you don't see is that just beyond them is a gigantic drop off straight down, and the sky across from them filled with mountain peaks, barely above the altitude which they are at. That shot is yet to come!
Recently a lot of you asked to see more of my Wildlife photography, and I have to admit I have a LOT which I am just sitting on, so I figured that maybe the time is right to start posting these shots.
Well let me know what ya all think!
Thanks everyone for your feedback & comments. It is impossible for me to say thank you to everyone who leaves comments, as it takes away from me seeing YOUR work, but if you do I will swing by your page and check your work out.
Thanks!
