This piece has been literally weeks in the making, and days in the rendering process, and once, recently, crashed my PC after about 7 hours of rendering, meaning I lost all that work! 

I rarely deal with backgrounds, let alone backgrounds this intensive, but I just had to do this render after having a dream about my character, Wren, riding a unicorn through a gloomy forest. I came to realize that it wasn't just 'a unicorn' but Wren, himself, before he was transformed, and the human form was so sad...
