I do so enjoy taking little things and making them significant. Who'd have thought that moving stones about would actually turn out to be important?
Well, anyone who watches martial arts movies, obviously. It's always the basic skills that the student doesn't want to waste time on that end up beating the antagonist's fancy moves.
Anyway, this line was the main reason why I was trying to play up the Alien references earlier, but was stymied by the lack of good set photographs on Google. Although I think it still works even without being quite as overt.

In a fanfic I started writing (I still am it's just... taking a while, about 1 chapter a year) I use the term "nag" to refer to... well... I can't say because I don't cuss, which is why I used "nag".
