https://animalark.org/They're an animal sanctuary that takes care of animals retired from zoos, have been injured and can't return to the wild, or were raised in captivity. I had the benefit of being able to tag along on a field trip for one of my jobs!I decided it would be a great opportunity to sketch, as there is something to be said for working with something alive instead of through a photograph.Thus the recent gallery dump :PSo if you live near the ark and get the opportunity to visit, it's a great place! There's even a play area for little ones.

Lookie that.This journal is so phail. I update facebook more often than this site, lmaoAlso, I bought a copy of Eat This, Not That. It is very informative about the calorie, fat, sugar, and sodium content of chain restaurant foods. Most of the good stuff is still too high in sodium for me, but it is fun to ruin people's illusions of what they order when they eat out xD
