The Ultimate I SHIP IT Meme

Happy Valentine's Day, have a meme I've been meaning to do for a long time now. I had to keep thinking over and switching around choices, as well as make sure they match up with the description. I'll admit I'm still not 100% satisfied, but I'm glad to get it done.

Because it's adorable - Stan x Wendy (South Park)
Getting back into this show again if you couldn't tell for the past few months, and it's been a fun albeit better experience. Stendy still gives me nostalgia even if they've been on the backburner when it comes to development/focus these days. The most we've gotten of them interacting as of recent is in The Fractured But Whole during battle which implies they're still an item. When they're your partners together, they can say quite a few cute lines like this:

"Hey! No screwing with my Call Girl!"

"Hey! That's my Toolshed you're messing with!"

Because it makes sense - Poison Ivy x Harley Quinn (Batman)
These two Gotham villainesses have been consistently paired up for a long time, and they've proven to have a great chemistry together. And what's great is they treat each other mutually well, it's certainly more than I can say compared to another relationship Harley keeps throwing herself into.

Because it's sweet - Moon x Lillie (Pokemon)
When I played through Pokemon Sun/Moon late 2016, Moon/Lillie was a pairing I grew to love. It was so nice seeing their development grow throughout the course of the story, because of each other too.

Because of its potential - Dipper Pines x Pacifica Northwest (Gravity Falls)
Before Northwest Mansion Mystery came out, I would've thought next to nothing about this pairing happening, now it's been an OTP for quite a while now. I feel if possible, they might eventually grow closer since it's likely Dipper has a bit of an infatuation for Pacifica, and vice versa.

Because it's healthy - Shawn x Jasmine (Total Drama)
It was a genuine surprise how much of a stable relationship they actually had, and in a recent Total Drama season to boot. Even with most of the arguments they had, they'll still look out for each other regardless.

Because it's new - Craig x Tweek (South Park)
Very hard to pick a choice, but I picked Creek since they're a pairing that has recently sparked in the SP fandom. Okay, it was always pretty popular, even before becoming canon, but I was pretty skeptical/indifferent to them...until I watched Put it Down. This episode proved to us just WHY they fit so well. There was no pressure here, Craig is shown to help calm down Tweek, and as a result, he’s shown a more compassionate side.

Because it's canon - Aladdin x Jasmine (Aladdin)
A popular Disney couple obviously. Aladdin and Jasmine have some of the best chemistry when it comes to Disney couples, which is why they made the cut.

Despite their contrasting personalities, Liquidator and Bushroot can really relate to being mutated elementals.

I couldn't just pick one, but Soul Eater was the anime that really helped me appreciate the idea of 'opposites attract', because I thought it did such a great job portraying that. And funny since most of these pairings aren't even canon, except for Stein and Marie in the manga. It might be a little cliche, but I feel they complete each other.

Because they're the same - Harry x Hermione (Harry Potter)
I've always shipped them. Maybe it is because I got exposed to the movies first, but even then, I thought Harry and Hermione had a far deeper connection than with their actual love interests. They could relate to each other a lot being raised with a Muggle lifestyle, being exceptionally talented as wizards, etc.

Because of subtext - Link x Zelda (The Legend of Zelda)
It's a bit of a vague topic in the fandom is if whether or not Link and Zelda in all the different games have any sort of romantic interest, and it's usually left for interpretation since it's never outright said. But I think it’s clear that a few versions of them have something more to their relationship beyond knight and princess.

Because of fanwork - Courtney x Gwen (Total Drama)
At first I mainly saw them as friends, but then after some time of going through the fandom, I realized how well they could fit as a couple. They’re different, yet similar.

Because they're underrated - Dizzy x Angel (Rock & Rule)
This might be one of the most obscure pairings I ship. They aren't even canon in their movie either, yet I find myself liking them more. In my opinion, they were the most likable out of the main band and Dizzy always went out of his way to try and help Angel when Omar would give up. Yet there is little to nothing for this pairing...it’s so difficult to find anything. That alone makes it a perfect choice for this spot.

NaruSaku got this spot by default...because now it seems that we aren’t allowed to enjoy a non-canon pairing without being called ‘salty’ or even ‘retarded’. But I’ve always had a soft spot for NaruSaku, I feel they have had far more development together and have the funnest chemistry. When they were written off as a way of Naruto ‘competing’ with Sasuke, I was pretty insulted by how shallow it was. I liked that Sakura slowly grew to appreciate Naruto over time, and how he was actually very selfless when it came to her happiness.
