The stars of the night shown brightly after the now distant storm, as if signifying the end of the cub's turmoil. He flopped onto the ground in exhaustion, his small chest heaving to take in the air his muscles screamed for. Every so often, the reddish cub would let out a small whimper between breaths as his anxiety began to creep in, drowning out the adrenalin that was once pumping through him. Where was mom? Where was dad? Did they get swallowed by the storm? He began to quietly sob on his side, his body forbidding him to move less he feel more pain in his joints.
