Rise

Unlike Unicorns there isn't a classical version of pegasus. They've always just simply been horses with wings on their back. I still wanted to add a little more uniqueness to them. So for this design I took inspiration from artist interpretations of gryphons and hippogriffs. Which often includes bird tail feathers at the base of their own tail. In terms of flight this is probably more realistic and adds lift, stability and maneuverability. I also think it looks rather cute. So the entire back up the nape of the neck is covered in feathers, I also made the fetlocks themselves feathers as well.
