So, wow...it's been a LONG time since I posted any art.  I had some I wanted to post, but my computer hard drive died...along with ALL my artwork since early 2009...

...oops.

So, right now, between work and Kingdom Hearts 2 (just finished Kingdom Hearts again :D love those games), I'm working on updating my websites again (dun dun dun), crocheting (I'm not sure if I can post here since I didn't make up the patterns), and drawing (Digimon fanart in particular).

I'm gonna try and update soon.  So, the like one person still watching me, check back soon!

Heh.

Yeah, my life just took a major nosedive in a bad direction.  Well, technically in a good direction, but people have soured it.  I really don't want to go into it partially because I feel like I'm asking for pity and partially because I'm hoping it will all blow over.

So, yeah, probably should be expecting a kinda dark turn in anything I submit...when I submit.  I think I'm getting out the paints tomorrow and getting some emotion out.

Well, I guess you couldn't really call it freelancing, but eh.  One of my real life friends has a gaming blog that he had me write an article for:

The Last Life A Blog About Gaming

::/shameless plug

My article is here: Girls Play Games Too...

He, his wife, and I are going to be doing a podcast about the topic.  We already recorded one, but it was the first time for all of us, so we're going to try re-recording it and doing it in a different format.  Be sure to keeping checking The Last Life to see it! (...or hear it rather I suppose /sweat)

Go and check it out!  He really liked my article, so I'm going to see about doing more articles for the website as well.  Go now! :D Tell your friends! ^_^

I think I want to write something on Okami next... Hmm...

Ja ne!

...Yes I'm ashamed to admit I actually did this:

twitter.com/kitsune16

It's private, but if you have twitter and am interested in when I update go for it.  I warn you - I tend to update a lot at first and then never.

Been a weird last couple days.  I've been dead exhausted.  Apologies to anyone who's been around me.  Apparently I've been cranky :(.  Wasn't trying to be.

I'm going to go and test my transfer paper to see if I can get images from my sketchbook to canvas.  Here's hoping it works because I need some painting stress release.

Ja ne.

...On a side note, the Legendary Starfy for DS ROCKS.  Go buy it now so they bring the other games over here.  Do it NOAW.

This is kind of a personal and emo thing for me to put here but oh well.

I'm a new college graduate with a degree in secondary education social studies.  It's the end of the July, and I don't have a teaching job.  I've put out countless applications, both to places open with a position I could fill and ones I couldn't. I have tried to keep a positive attitude and keep information updated and be as diligent as I could while working as much as I could to make the money I need to live.

I haven't even had a call back.  No calls for interviews.  No "well, we like you, but you need to be certified in Texas first".  Nothing.  Nada.  Only automated messages from some of the schools I applied for online.

I'm frustrated, disappointed, aggravated, a thousand different emotions.  I don't know if it's because I don't have that Texas certification yet.  But, if that's all it is, I am severely disappointed.  Just because I have a Louisiana certification and not a Texas certification does not make THAT MUCH of a difference in my teaching abilities, especially since I went to one of the best teaching colleges in this area.

My teacher told me not to be surprised if I don't get a call until the first week when school starts, but my optimism is starting to seriously deteriorate.  Schools want teachers with experience.  Someone please tell me - how can new teachers like me get experience if you don't give us the opportunity to teach?

I guess I better start filling out those substitute applications.

This is mostly for :icontenkishonen: and :iconwingedelfmaiden: who I promised to be uploading lots of pictures of Kristen and Karen's original comic from high school.  My sinus infection kinda caught up with me yesterday and today, and I've been feeling under the weather again.  My cough has gotten a little worse, too.  I'm going to try to get some uploaded today, but it's just to let you two know they are coming - I'm not procrastinating heh. ^_^;

For everyone else, update coming soon.

Excerpt from Dennis Dodd's Article

The band might be a good place to start because, well, they're the band. In general, band geeks are self-important and frequently out of tune. It's obvious to the rest of us, why not them? Led Zeppelin does not translate well to the trombone.

Quick band story: A reporter was running across the Rose Bowl turf a few years ago after a game trying to get back up to the press box. There was virtually no one in the stadium at that point except the reporter and the USC band. He tried to politely cut through their ranks to make it the shortest distance between two points. Instead, he was physically blocked by the band like this was some sort of big boy game of Red Rover.

They weren't budging and actually getting a bit pushy. Fortunately, some assistant band director came by and yelled, "Let him through," as if the tuba goons had pulled this type of macho crap previously. That's just what the world needs, a brass section with attitude.

Remember when being in the band merely meant you couldn't get a date? Then the likes of the Stanford band tried to make itself matter. Their antics were worth a chuckle now and then when they weren't getting run over by Cal players. Then they really got, uh, creative.

Some advice: If you think it's cool to urinate on the field then you've got issues that go waaaay beyond self-esteem band dork.

We bring this up because bands are part of the game's culture the same way as jock itch and concussions. For the most part, bandies are neither funny nor, unfortunately, dieting. If the Marshall crew had anything to do with Edwards' injury then Steve Barnett has some explaining to do. Barnett is in his sixth year as director of the "Marching Thunder." He told CBSSports.com he had been questioned "by a couple of lawyers" but couldn't comment any further.

"Any type of accident is unfortunate," Barnett said.

A band director's head on a platter, would that be enough for Edwards?

Let's think about the common good here. The NCAA has a student-athlete welfare committee. Just a thought, but it might be worthwhile at their next meeting to insert language somewhere about schools not allowing equipment carts anywhere near where elite athletes are sprinting at full speed.

In a way the injury almost draws the line between BCS and non-BCS schools. Can you imagine carts being left in the back of the end zone at Michigan? USC? Florida? This could have happened anywhere -- anywhere where they don't have enough room. Or enough money to build more room. This particular tragedy occurred in a 38,000-seat Joan C. Edwards Stadium, the 81st largest venue in I-A.

In the BCS, you're either big time or you're not. In the land of dorkness, there's another distinction to be noted. If you're parading around at halftime don't get too full of yourself. You're in the band, chief, not a band. Act appropriately and stow that French horn in a safe place.

Led Zeppelin thanks you.

"I'm not a mean person," Edwards said. "I'm a forgiving person. I don't hold any grudges [but] it was a band cart."

-------------------------------------------------------------

I already sent in a formal complaint (I doubt it will do any good), but the fact that someone like this is a senior writer for a website affiliated with CBS seriously pisses me off.  I want everyone to know - this is not the 1980s.  So-called band nerds (and former ones in my case) are not going to be insulted like this.

I had a friend ask me an interesting question at work that has stayed with me for a bit.  I told him about some of the drawings I did while on vacation with my aunt in Victoria and Seattle.  He asked me if I would be posting any.  I laughed a little and said I didn't think they were good enough to put up - even if some of the sketches are pretty much ready to be posted.

He looked and me and asked, "How do you decide if they're good enough to post?"

I was kind of surprised at the question. I don't remember my exact answer - I think I gave a simple, "I just don't think they're good enough" and walked off.

But, it got me thinking.  When it comes to my artwork, what do I think is good enough to post?  It's usually finished work or work I did exceptional on.  But, reflecting on that, and the few people I have shown my sketches to, I realized that usually the sketches I think look terrible are are the one my friends are most impressed with.

I know I don't color my sketches as much as I used to because I like the quality and emotion I get with pencil that I can't seem to make stay when I ink them in Photoshop and color them.

I'm not always the most confident person, and maybe my own self-confidence is what stops me from posting more of my work.  But, maybe that's my problem.  Maybe I should try to find that courage to post it anyhow.  I don't think I'll get any more notice than I have now - which is fine.  I can make people smile and feel better with a five second sketch.  That's all I really want after all.

Maybe I should just try to have more courage and see what happens.

...Mm...we'll see.

So, new year.  More updates I'm hoping ^^;

I have a couple projects I'm starting - both as Christmas and birthday presents for one of my best friends.  I've still got some sketches from this summer to scan as well.

I'm hoping for another year of improvement.  Let's see what 2009 has in store.

I wish I could draw dragons, so I could attempt to do fanart for this awesome series.

Alas, all I have is the birthday present I made last year, and I haven't really tried another dragon since.

C'est la vie.
The website says you can't officially enter until December, but I was to really try this.  So, here it is:

The title says it all X0D

I guess I'm just not mega artist at the moment.  Or I'm lazy...or stressed.  God only knows X0D

This week I'll be uploading some sketchy pictures of "Character Pages" for a story I've been sketching for a while, and finally feel confident enough to actually do in a comic form and post.  I'm also sketching out an idea of what is essentially a joke between me and my best friends.  But still awesome.

I'm thinking of joining the 100 art challenge.  I can't officially enter right now, but I think I may start working on the pieces, etc.  I haven't decided yet. ^^

Guess that's it...

Ja ne!
Well, I finally got a DeviantArt account. I guess it's about time *sweat*. This'll save me space on my new domain. I can just put all my art in one nice little place. ^^ Maybe even submit part of my stories. I guess that's all I have to say. ^^;

Man...I just realized that I put that originally on the comments. *Sweat* Lots to learn, lots to learn.

I've uploaded a mixture of my most recent artwork and some of the old stuff.  I'll be adding more as I finish them. ^^
