Part One
Glendower childishly found herself almost not wanting to help Pan out-- he didn't like her, she thought to herself with a pout, but though she didn't exactly want to, she did anyways. She wasn't going to argue with these kittens in the state that they were all in, too emotional and irrational, at least in Glendower's position. No, for Iorek and her kits, she would bite back her tongue and let it slide. One day they all would see that Iorek was a great father, and maybe they would even accept him as their father once again...if they didn't, Glendower would be the most disappointed cat you'd ever see. She tried to stay positive though, and she watched as Olive run out, probably to get herbs or maybe to cry more or something. Glendower found herself doubting that Olive paid attention to anything she ever told her, she was too busy sleeping or complaining. Something made Glendower oddly serious, now...despite having her kittish and slightly bratty thoughts about what they had said to her. Something about medical emergencies made her still. Everyone had flipped out and went to help him as soon as possible-- was this the normal thing that siblings did? Glendower wouldn't know, she was an only child. Her parents came running after her, it was the opposite way around here...maybe that's why it was kind of strange and maybe a little irksome to the Healer. Glendower padded over to Pan with an almost ghostly calmness though, her lake eyes knowing. "It's a panic attack, too much was going on. The mind is connected to your stomach, I believe, and that's why he threw up-- he upset himself, and therefore, his stomach, too." Glendower began, looking over him quickly. Really, there was nothing more she could do for him. She had never heard of anyone ever dying from a panic attack...well, Pan was young, his heart wouldn't give out or anything. Her hysteria never killed her. She just needed to rationalize, lay down, calm herself, and then it was all better...in fact, that's what Pan needed to do, too.
Glendower looked at Iorek and smiled a forced smile of wearing patience, waving her tail. "He needs to just lay down. Stop thinking, stop freaking out, as best as he can. He might be hyperventilating, too, so he needs to breathe normally, too, or deep breaths, even better. That'll make him lightheaded, it'll probably help in this case, it might make him sleep." Glendower rambled quickly and expertly, saying it to Iorek, but loud enough so Pan could hear her, so he knew what to do. Glendower assumed that he didn't want to listen to what she said, but she was the best Healer in the North Region, so it was wise to follow what she said to do, and as a sufferer of hysteria herself. She knew what to do from some experience. "And if Olive comes back with herbs, that might help too (even though our herb stock is really low, and wasting it on a side effect of over-exaggeration...!)-- I hope she gets poppy seeds, that'll do the trick, or thyme." Glendower added, naming off herbs effortlessly. Though, she didn't expect Olive to get it.
Pan didn't register much of anything at first. Everything felt far away and the only thing he was really aware of was the pressure on his chest. It was like he couldn't get enough breath.
Then he felt warmth and pressure on his back and a voice trickled into his consiousness. K-Kyn? Breath he told him. He tried to do as his brother instructed, but it was difficult. Then his dad, telling him the same thing, so he tried harder. He was aware that he was moving though he felt dazed and couldn't even remember when he started walking. He was settled down somewhere and was hit by a familiar smell, the one he had often curled up in and fell asleep in when he was a kit. The familiarity made him open his eyes, relaxing a bit more. He saw many eyes on him and immediatly closed them again, turning his head in the ground below. He felt stupid, breaking down like that. He heard Glendower instruct things and did as told. The familiar smell making him relax, so breathing became easier. He forced his breathing to slow and his breaths became long and deep. It felt strange as if there was air filling his head, but it also helped, no longer feeling as numb as before and not as sick either. He felt bad though, making everyone worry. He wasn't supossed to act like this. He should be able to just laugh and carry on. Tell a joke, pull a prank. Panic attacks as he had Glendower heard saying were not supossed to happen. "I'm sorry," he mumbled into the material beneath him as he kept his eyes closed. Not only for making his family worry, but for everything he supossed. He had vagually registered Iorek assuring him even after making him cry and Glendower helping even though he had lashed out to her. He had Olive apperently running of in the cold, his sick sister. And quite francilly he didn't know about the rest. "I'm really sorry."
Olive shakily brought herself back to her paws, wiping some snot and tears off of her face with a sweep of one of her small paws. Her tail hung low as she slowly walked to the exit of the healer's den, peering out, ready to just give up - there was nothing that she could do as a healer, and it seemed that she would not even really have a guide to train her now that Glendower was going to be raising kittens, but Olive eye's widened when she saw Iorek, Kyn, and Glendower all comforting her brother. She couldn't hear a word they were saying from where she was stationed, but the sight of her family coming together elicited a brief feeling of warmth in her stomach... until she remembered that she wasn't there with them. Her brother, a ginger light elemental, had brought their family together, all while the dark elemental stood at a distance. 'Why am I even here....' she wondered, taking a step backwards as tears welled in her eyes again; all of her closest friends were in other regions, and now she was being rejected by her own family! Of course, in her panicked state the she-cat forgot the fact that she had run away on her own accord, thereby preventing herself from being part of the somewhat-tender moment unfolding on the other side of the camp.
The she-cat moved to sit down in her nest, facing the piles of herbs at the back of the den rather than the enterance, her claws tearing into the moss before she leapt up and moved to the back of the den once again, searching her mind of anything that might help her brother - before all of this had happened she had always wanted to prove herself as a good healer, and now, when no one seemed to believe in her, she finally had her chance! Crouching down again, with a few tears still dribbling down her face, the rookie fumbled through the piles of herbs, her eyes locking onto one plant with thick, sticky leaves - thyme! It would help cats calm down, she quickly tore the plant from the pile and set it beside her before her mind began to swim quickly through the usage of diferent herbs, and she picked up a stalk of watermint. Without the understanding that stress could cause a cat to vomit she thought that an herb for a bellyache might help her brother, and she also grabbed some willow leaves, picking up all the herbs in her mouth and then rushing across the North Region Camp.
The dark-furred rookie burst into her father's den, dropping the herbs down in front of Pan as she continued to shake, although it seemed like her efforts had come too late, as he already seemed to have calmed down. For once in her life the she-cat wished that her brother was still feeling ill as she plopped herself back onto the ground, not knowing what to do or say. Her job as a healer had been done without her - what use could she be? Why would Iorek have ever cared? She didn't blame him for telling them about their real father - who would want kits who were so worthless, what hadany of them done to help the North Region in its period of snowfall? Nothing. Olive had done nothing, and now Kaa and the followers were back, ready to wreak havoc across the regions... the world was falling apart...
Kyn relaxed when his brother laid down and regained his breath, an expression of relief on his face. He was still distracted from his own grief and anger as he lowered his head to reassuringly press his cheek against Pan's. "It's okay... Don't be sorry... I'm always happy to look after you."
The black-furred kitten looked up when Olive burst in and set some herbs down, only for her to turn away and sit, looking dejected... She was just as upset as Pan, even if she showed it in other ways than panicking. Kyn rose to his paws and moved over to his sister's side, trusting Pan to be okay for a moment. "Olive..." He pressed against her, his larger, fluffy form seeming to wrap around the little tabby. He wanted to be the one to look after his litter mates, especially after all of the anger and drama... it was hard to accept help from the adult cats when he was angry with them for lying. Looking back at Pan but staying pressed against Olive, he suggested, "Um... We can all sleep in my nest tonight." He could keep them warm and be there if one of them got sick; Pan through nerves and Olive through poor health and cold. And it would just be nice to have them there.
Glendower was surprised when Olive came back with the right herbs. Though she wasn't all too sure that Pan really needed watermint all that much, his stomach was only upset because he had freaked out about all this, and vomiting usually helped you feel better. It was wasteful, but whatever. "Ah, th...thyme. Thyme will work, nicely." Glendower said, feeling a little disappointment that Olive had taken thyme. She could've gotten poppy seeds, which were more plentiful, and Glendower liked to have the thyme for herself. Though Pan was calm, Glendower really did not look forward to Pan lashing out at her once more, and she wouldn't be allowed to do anything about it. Yes, she had heard Pan's muffled apologies, but she wouldn't accept it unless he said it out loud and to her face-- she was finicky like that. She was sure that even though he was sorry, the emotional kit would lash out at her once more, so she would let him take the thyme...though, at the moment, Glendower really wanted it more. All the anger and tension in the aura and unpleasant things probably weren't so good for her kittens, so thyme would help her, surely. She swore, if this ever effected them when they were born, she would never forgive them. But...still, she would let Pan get the thyme. Looking over the willow leaves, Glendower looked at Pan. "Olive got herbs for you, watermint, willow leaves, and thyme. Really, the only ones you'll need is thyme, to calm you down further. It has fresh taste to it, it's not too bad. It'll help. Oh, and have those willow leaves too." Glendower told him in a sing song voice, though her face was kind of blank as she did so. Glendower glanced at Olive and smiled a bit. "The watermint won't be necessary though, I don't think." Glendower said, plucking the stalk off of the ground and by her side.
Sitting and watching now, Glendower leaned against Iorek slightly with a breath in and a breath out. Hopefully things would calm down now, and Glendower wrapped her ragged tail around herself, closing her eyes for a moment. Opening them, her lake blue eyes focused on Iorek and they had a look that said, 'could we please go, now?', in them. It was kind of odd now, after everything that happened, and she didn't know what would go on next.
Pan blinked his eyes open when something was dropped in front of him, a new smell making it's way into his nose. There were a bunch of leaves... Looking beyond them stood Olive and he winced, seeing she didn't look too well. He tried smiling at her, but he didn't know if she saw. When Kyn conforted him, he felt like turning his head into the feathery nest again, but he didn't. He felt stupid really. He had always wanted to be the one to care for his siblings. Make them laugh, not make them worry. He was doing shitty job at that now. With that in mind he pushed himself up when Kyn let himself curl around Olive in confort, -admited somewhat shakily- making his way towards them. There he settled himself against his sister's other side. He smiled softly at them both, silently thanking them.
He then registered Glendower instructing things about the leaves Olive had dropped. Oh, they were medicine ofcourse... He eyed them wondering what you were supossed to do with them. Sniff, eat? He didn't look forward to eating that, besides he wasn't sick. He just had... uhm... He wasn't sure what to call it, but he was just not sick and he shouldn't be a baby and leave medicine for cats who really needed it, like Olive. Pressing closer to them and their support was all he really needed. He glanced towards the ground. "I-it's alright. I don't need them. Thank you for them though!" He hurried to say glancing between Glendower and Olive, longer so to the latter. "But medicine is for sick cats, you know, and well maybe..." A quick glance to Glendower's stomach. "And maybe also really Olde cats," he tried laughing as if he was telling a joke. It sounded kind of obgnousias, but he was determined to lighten the mood. "I'm fine really. Let's leave 'em for the cats who need it, huh?" He leaned his head into Olive's, sparing an awkward glance around whole of the room, before settling on the ground again. He wasn't sure how to act now, so he plastered a smile on his face that by all means looked forced this time around. Strange, he was always so good at this before now.
Iorek simply nodded at his mate's words on the young tom's symptoms, and for the next few minutes he remained silent, watching Pan carefully. Evidently, the young Tamer Rookie seemed to be calming down himself which brought relief to the tabby tom's heart. Though he did end up frowning a bit when he heard Pan apologise for something that wasn't completely in his control. "Don't be; it's not entirely your own fault" he whispered gently before taking a few steps back from the nest the young cat was laying on. It was in that moment Olive had entered the den with... thyme? Yes that was thyme, but upon looking at the she-cat that he would still call his own daughter, the tabby tom couldn't help but look at her pained face. She looked so broken still...
"Olive" he began, taking a step towards her; only for Kyn to beat him to it. From there the Leader watched as the black Kaa-look-a-like comforted his sister and admitted that they could all share the same nest with him tonight. A heart of gold as always... Another difference between him and his father now he couldn't help but think before turning to see Glendower finish her instructions for Pan. Though when she looked at him, the tabby tom instantly sighed. She obviously didn't want to be here any more, not with what had happened. And honestly, he himself wanted to leave the family of kits with their mother, who all the while showed great concern and grief as she walked over to Pan to comfort him still. Meanwhile the two twins seemed to be with live and Kyn, though Jack still glared at him from the corner of his amber eyes.
His thoughts were broken the moment he heard Pan make a joke about medicine. Though he would've normally stared at him for making one at a time like this, Iorek knew this would be making him feel better. So, he let out a slight chuckle from it. "I'm not that old if that's what you're meaning!" he replied back with an indignant snort. Though the generosity the little ginger cat expressed was something Iorek couldn't help but admire; this was Pan putting others before him, others who needed it more. "If that's what you want; though your sister did get you it, so if I were you I would at least take some to show her some gratitude" he advised before looking back at Glendower again. With one look, the tom got up and made way for the den's entrance; he decided that Clementine needed a time alone with her little ones. That and let everyone calm down.
"You are welcome to occupy my den for as long as you want - I feel like you need to have some time with your mother... I'll be near the Nursery if you need me" he whispered in a somewhat sad tone as he looked at the small family before him. He honestly didn't know what they would think of him now; not after what just transpired with his breakdown and Pan's panic attack. Leaving to give privacy seemed the best way in a sense. So, with a nod to the pregnant she-cat next to him, Iorek exited the den, heading straight towards the Nursery to finally think over things...
Olive's little form stopped shaking so much when she felt the warmth of Kyn pressing against her dark fur, his fluff seeming to encompass her and when he suggested that they all share his den for the night she nodded in agreement, leaning a little bit more on her brother as Glendower spoke of the herbs that Olive had brought in... though she didn't sound especially impressed, and when she pulled the watermint away the she-cat's ears lowerd and she shot the creamy she-cat an irritated glance, though Glendower was looking at Iorek when she did it, so Olive doubted that her guide saw - but Glendower wasn't who mattered right now, it was Olive's family that mattered, and she felt a little more confident when her ginger furred brother moved to her other side to press against her. Breathing in their mingled smells, as well as Jennifer's, made the healer rookie give a small smile, a smile that was quickly proceeded by a giggle after Pan's joke, and she made sure to look up at Iorek to see his response. Though, upon looking up, she tried to hide her little smile, mainly just in want of attention, but she couldn't help but perk up a little more when Iorek told Pan to eat the herbs that she had gotten for him to show his gratitude. Where another healer might have insisted on not wasting them if he really was feeling better Olive just stayed quiet, wrapping her tail slightly around Pan as she continued to lean on Kyn.
When Iorek said that he would be at the nursery the she-cat nodded again; despite having family all around her, which proved that they hadn't forgotten about her or come together just because she wasn't there, the rookie still wasn't entirely sure what to say. If she had questions they escaped her mind at that moment, and all of the worries about the followers, and even her worries about Kaa, seemed momentarily distant.
Kyn stayed put as the other cats spoke, listening silently... Iorek left for the nursery to be with Glendower, and Kyn felt a little bad when his absence resulted in some tension leaving his shoulders. He was still upset with the adults, and about this entire situation, even if the anger had dwindled. The black-furred kitten sighed, rubbing his chin against the top of Olive's little head as the littermates huddled together. "... I don't know how to feel right now." His tone was calm as he addressed his siblings. He wasn't so angry, but still felt a little betrayed, and sad... But how was he supposed to feel about Kaa? His real father, the cat he looked just like. He felt no love for him. Absolutely none. Was that how he was supposed to feel?
Pan relaxed further as Iorek chuckled and Olive giggled, giving in to the lame joke. He closed his eyes and turned his snout into Olive's fur, a relieved though somewhat trembling smile making it's way onto his face. Some more tears leaked from his eyes, but now out of pure relief. Whatever damage done, it wasn't inreversable it seemed. He nodded when his dad told him to eat some of what Olive brought anyway. He reached out his paw, nibbling some of the leaves, eyes on Olive. They said "Thank you".
As Iorek made his way to leave the den, Pan said just enough for the male to hear. "See you later... D-dad." It was some kind of apology, seeing as his prior one had been misunderstood.
Then Kyn spoke and he nodded. "We're all alive?" He tried. "I guess that's something good." He didn't know if he was meaning to joke or to be positive. He didn't care. "Can we go to your nest now? I feel like sleeping."
Olive closed her eyes, drawing in a deep, but somewhat unsteady breath as both of her brothers cuddled against her. When Pan said goodbye to their... father.. Olive's little heart felt as though it were about to burst out of her chest. She wanted to say something too but the words were all caught in her throat, but she did feel a little more calm now that her ginger-pelted brother had eaten some of the herbs she had brought him - it showed the she-cat that she was still of some use... and then Kyn said that he didn't know how to feel.
The dark-furred warrior rookie's sister could certainly relate to that; all her emotions were in one big ball, although when Pan stepped in trying to brighten the mood Olive pushed away her doubtful feelings and then nodded, letting out a yawn. "I could sleep too..." She mewed, casting an almost pleading glance at Kynzi before looking quickly back at Jack and Jennifer. She could easily fall asleep after dealing with so much stress, and cuddling with her littermates would make things even better...
"Alright," Kyn agreed, nodding his head. "We can go." He ducked his head to rasp his tongue over Olive's forehead once, then rose to his paws and stretched, arching his back and curling his tail. He sighed as he relaxed from the stretch, shaking out his thick fur and moving towards the exit. A small amount of stress became visible on his face for just a moment, while his back was to his littermates, but he blinked it away and put on a reassuring smile as he looked back at them. "I'm a little tired, too, I guess..."
Pan nodded and stretched, yawning widely, before making way after his brother. He just wanted to curl up and sleep right now. He was sure to stay close to Olive, bumping into the she-cat softly and saying playfully: "You can show us all how it is done, huh? Being pro at sleeping and all?" he chuckled, half an eye focussed on Jack and Jeniffer to make sure they were following as they all left the den. Vagually he wondered if Kynzi's nest would be big enough.
As the rookies left their father's den, making their way to a place where they could let their minds clear after everything that had happened, Olive couldn't help but smile lightly; her brothers always seemed to be there for her and when Pan bumped into her and joked about her sleeping she gave out a single little chuckle. "Pffh.." her voice was quiet, and her eyes still stung from crying, "Yeah, I bet I'm waaay better at sleeping than all of you." Her tail flicked as the five young cats made their way across the snow-laden camp of the North Region, ducking into Kynzikaa's den where they could all curl up together and find comfort in their numbers. Even if everything seemed to be shattering around them, even if their family's happy lie had been torn apart, they all still had each other.
It was a tight squeeze to fit five young cats together, but it just reminded Kyn of what it was like to be a kit, nestled up with his littermates and mother. He let out a sigh, draping one foreleg over one sibling and burrowing his face in the fur of another. It was warm in the giant fur-blob, and comforting... He purred faintly, finding some contentment in what family he did know and love.

Part One||Part Two||Part Four
I ran out of space so I had to make this into a two part. But yeah, if you've made it this far I congratulate you! So many feels and so many angst - this has to be the most emotional RP I have ever done thus far, and it also made me realise how much I love Iorek all over again and how developed he has become over time; shows he's a big softie on the inside despite what many first witness of him.
There's more to come though XD
