I did exploratory Surgery today on the camera in search of a "reset" button that was suppose to be under the LCD but my model doesn't have one, so decided to venture further to see if there was anything I could physically see wrong with the lens. The lens unit is sadly busted, not dirty or misaligned.
It's an old camera and I was having problems with it regardless just due to its age. So im not surprised by it's death just wasn't ready with a replacement. I found a replacement lens on Ebay for $25 and I think the best course of action will be to get the lens and do a temp patch repair. It will fix the lens problem but it was having other problems too so this is just a temp fix to extend the life a little longer until I can get some newer cameras for Christmas this year. It will still be a while before I can get the money for the replacement lens, but hope to have it before April. Thank you all for your understanding and patience.
