THIS... was a completely loose doodle with no base sketch, messy "lines" and a bit of grime here and there. finished inbetween work. to be honest, my work has felt a little too.... polished lately. i'm so focused on getting clean lines and clean shading that i feel like it takes away some of the liveliness. i also just enjoy myself a lot more drawing adopts this way. SO expect to see more (if you even can tell a difference hahah)

They stand by a dirt road at night, slouched in the ditch that divides the vehicles from the forest. They curl their finger come-hither so that poor souls lost to the many car accidents know to follow them between the trees. Like moths to a flame and children to their caretaker they tag along, bleary eyed and curious. Then somewhere deep within, they will find a comfortable place to lay down roots in the welcoming soil.

It is unfortunate that such a simple dirt road could be so cursed. At the very least, the dead may add to the forest's expanse. Hikers don't come by as often anymore. It isn't difficult to deduce why.

Extras:
- The wing-ears flutter rapidly when they're focusing hard.
- The lantern contains their heart which is an enchanted flame. Move the lantern too far from the pathkeeper, and they grow lethargic.
- Smells of wet dirt and trees.
- Their clothes, despite looking heavy, are actually rather light. They've spun them themselves after long, careful collecting of moth hair.
- Can vaguely recall a past life. However, the details are too muddled to fully understand what it was.
