Softly I move on velvet paws,
Dancing on the whisper of the wind,
Sneaking, slinking ever closer,
I am but a shadow from within.
Silent predator, able hunter,
I lock my gaze upon my prey,
My blood pulses through my veins,
I am ready; it's time to play!
Throwing caution to the wind,
I leap forward with a mighty yip,
My teeth are bared, my body ready,
I land with a satisfying thump.
I hear you shriek as I make my move,
I see the panic in your eyes
I have you now, my little friend,
There's no escape, but you can try,
I pin you down, and move in close,
My muzzle but inches from yours,
I look you in the eyes, and give a playful bark,
And soak your face in a barrage of kisses.
I leisurely move to let you up,
as you sputter and growl and grumble,
You have been caught, pounced, and tagged,
Now it is your turn to rumble!
