This is how I make my pokeballs for my cosplay :). I hope it will help someone.

Mine aren't 100% accurate, bu since I'm not very good at painting I can be proud of myself...

And I used styrofoam balls to do this. Maybe I didn't wrote this but it is the base of a pokeball....

I don't know what more to say, if you have any questions I will try to awnser the best I can :). Pokeballs are very easy to do but very long to finish....

EDIT: Wow thanks for all those views! i'm happy to see that my tutorial is useful :D

And those are examples of what you might get when you are finished! (those pokeballs aren't mine, they belong to their respective owners):

You used a Heal Ball! It hasn't been forgotten! x33

Actually, I do not use heal balls in the pokemon games (honestly, I found them to be quite useless), but since it looks very pretty (and has lovely colors), I've decided to make one. :)

I personally loved the Luxury Ball. I mean, who doesn't like black?

Just wanted to say thanks for this tutorial! I made some pokéballs for a cosplay with it. They turned out great!

You are welcome! I've seen your pokéballs in your gallery, and they look very nice. Would you mind if I added them to the description of the tutorial?

what's the poke balls made of? :3

It's a styrofoam ball :)

You can easily find them at dollar stores or craft stores for a cheap price, generally uner 1$.

they look nicer when u paint tennis balls. just some thought
Kisshu-Neko's avatar
That is very plausible since I haven't tried tennis balls yet. Plus I was in a rush when I first made these so I didn't took the time to put a lot of modpodge coats ^^"

you should try them sometime then! sadly they dont bounce.
another thing i like doing is getting the large plastic bouncy balls and painting those as giant pokeballs with acrylic paint. they r still bouncy!(USE TAPE TO MAKE THE EDGES NICE!):D

Yes, I'll try to use that sometime if I do another pokemon cosplay. I've been getting this suggestion several times, so I guess that it works quite well!

Ilike the idea of using bouncy balls too.

what is the yogurt for?
Kisshu-Neko's avatar
You just use the plastic pot that contains the yogurt. If I remember well, I used it either to use it as a stand for the pokeballs (it would have the same use as the egg box) or to pour modpodge in it.

I'm sorry if I did not answer your question clearly, it has been more than a year since I made this tutorial so I don't remember well ^^''
