Hey there!
I'm a freelance writer/illustrator currently living in America's Pacific North-West.
Most of my drawings these days are drawn between assignments in coffee shops, so they're usually done with a mechanical pencil in a Moleskine sketchbook.
(Although I plan on venturing more into digital art in the future.)
Aside from art, my main passion in life is martial arts and arts of fencing from any point in history.
I'm an eclectic martial artist with a main focus on Jeet Kune Do, Liechtenauer-tradition swordsmanship, sabre fencing, and Balearic-style slinging.

I'm not saying it was *only* used by Germans, but its use was universal in German-speaking lands since it's inception. (And Germans were one of the last to stop using it.)
The Germans didn't invent pickling and sausage-making, but they're also known for being associated with that too 
The entire concept of "sallet + bevor" is a pretty German design by default, from an armorers standpoint
